Killer, intruder, homicidal man.
If you see me coming, run as fast as you can.
A blood thirsty demon who's stalking the street.
I hack up my victims like pieces of meat.
Blood thirsty demon, sinister fiend,
Bludgeonous slaughters, my evil deeds.

My hammer's a cold piece of blood-lethal steel.
I grin while you writhe with the pain that I deal.
Swinging the hammer, I hack through their heads,
Deviant defilers, you're next to be dead.
I unleash my hammer with sadistic intent.
Pounding, surrounding, slamming through your head. Yeah!

Their bodies convulse, in agony, and, pain.
I mangle their faces, till no features remain.
A blade for the butchering, I cut them to shreds.
First take out the organs, then cut off the head.
The remains of flesh now sop under my feet.
One more bloody massacre, the murders' complete.
I seek to dismember, a sadist fiend.
And, blood baths are my way of getting clean.
I lurk in the alleys, wait for the kill.
I have no remorse for the blood that I spill
A merciless butcher who lives underground.
I'm out to destroy you and ,I will, cut you down.
I see you, and, I'm waiting ,for Black Friday.

Killer, intruder, homicidal man.
If you see me coming, run as fast as you can.
A blood thirsty demon who's stalking the street.
I hack up my victims like pieces of meat.
I lurk in the alleys, wait for the kill.
I have no remorse for the blood that I spill
A merciless butcher who lives underground.
I'm out to destroy you and ,I will, cut you down.

It's Black Friday, paint the devil on the wall.

General Comment:The song is about Megadeth ex-drummer Dijon Carruthers whom Megadeth believed was a devil worshiper. He was very quiet and was involved in the occult with his strange friend who would write strange symbols on paper and stuff. Mustaine believes they went on to be murderers.

Song Meaning:I think this song is mostly about a killer on the loose, possible a satan worshiper, killing to please satan. Also, the song could be about the anger Dave felt after he was booted out of metallica while they created Kill em all, which could be where the hammer as the murder weapon comes into the song because on the cover of Kill Em All it features a bloody hammer. Dave might have been using the perspective of one of the metallica members. I.E. "bodies convulse in agony in pain" could be used by one of the metallica members as if they were TRYING to hurt dave (if that makes any sense to anyone)

General Comment:The part about Wikipedia Tackowat said is ridiculous. "If it's not on Wikipedia, it's probably not fact." Just because something isn't on Wikipedia doesn't mean it didn't happen; conversely, just because it's on Wikipedia doesn't mean it's fact. This is a perfect example of what Colbert called "Wikiality:" Whatever put on Wikipedia becomes fact because of a consensus among the users.

Anyhow, powerplayer hit it right on the head. It's inspired by Cuthers' activities with the cult. The song is pretty straight forward: It's about a serial killer. There are no hidden meanings or subtle metaphors placed in the lyric. This may be one of the songs Megadeth will no longer play live because Dave is a born-again Christian. I'm not sure, however, but I know on the Megadeth forums there was a list of songs that would not be performed anymore and I recall that Disconnect was on the list. If Disconnect is on the list, I'm sure Black Friday is, too.

General Comment:Bloch, unless you have an extremely successful metal band, you are in no position to call anyone a "fake ass wannabe metal loser".

As for the song meaning, I think it's about a man who wakes up and is posessed. Then he goes on a killing spree, I don't think it has a very deep meaning.

General Comment:"'Black Friday' was inspired by a great drummer named Dijon Carruthers whose father was Ben Carruthers from the movie 'The Dirty Dozen.' Dijon's brother was Cain Carruthers from the ska band The Untouchables. Dijon was pretty much a band member until we found out that he lied about being 'black' to us. I am not against having any person in our band, regardless of color, but Dijon said he was Spanish. One day his brother walked in and Dijon nearly died on the spot. We used the material that we were working on as we kept going, but we knew that a man that is embarrassed about his family, race, or upbringing, would never fit our creed." (Mustaine, 2001)

"Dijon Carruthers was a drummer with Megadeth temporarily, before Gar Samuelson. He was a very talented, but strange person. He used to hang out with an even stranger guy that was definitely into the occult; this guy was fully wacked! Dijon's friend seemed to know a lot of the occult, he wrote a lot of strange things and symbols down on paper. Although Dijon did get credit for inspiring those two songs ["Bad Omen" and "Black Friday"], that was the extent of it. Dijon may or may not be or have been a Satanist, and he did not commit murder that I know of at the time I was associating him. Dijon was a very talented drummer, and he came from a gifted family. I wish him well in his endeavors, whatever they may be." (Mustaine)
