    General Comment:one of the most underrated songs of all time. i'm haunted every time she slowly coos, "laaaaately...i'm not the on-ly one". great comment above about the string section carrying you from one part of the song to the other.

    General Comment:The moral of the story is: Things can't get better if your dead. In other words, don't give up. To keep breathing is an encouraging notion, that as long as you are alive things will get better. Most of life's trial are temporary, but when your going through them it can seem like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Relief seems miles away. The song is saying don't give up, commit suicide, become apathetic or throw in the towel.

    General Comment:this song is sooooooo good, its by far one of the best garbage songs ever!regaurdless of if it came from a book or not, its really encouarging to get better, like after it, you feel all inclined to get better, and if not, its just letting you know that it may take time, but all feelings change....this is great!

    General Comment:I never read an interview where it was said that the song was based off the book. Only on Shirley's friend. All I know is that the title came from the book.

    General Comment:I do know for sure that this song was based off the novek of the same name and that it was inspired by one of Shirley's close friends. The best part of this song for me are the string arrangements and how they seem to carry you from one part of the song to the other. I also can't get enough of the lyric, "maybe you'll get what you want this time around." Amen to that.

    General Comment:Right Deebs, she wrote for a friend when her husband and mother turned their backs on her. She went home and the friend showed up and collasped in front of her.
