Lyrics for Come As You Are as interpreted by bonj

Come As You Are Lyrics
Come as you are, as you were
As I want you to be
As a friend, as a friend
As a known enemy
Take your time, hurry up
Choice is yours, don't be late
Take a rest as a friend
As an old

Memory, yeah x4

Come dowsed in mud, soaked in bleach
As I want you to be
As a trend, as a friend
As an old

Memory, yeah x4

And I swear that I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun, no, I don't have a gun

Memory, yeah x4
(No, I don't have a gun)

And I swear that I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun, no, I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun, no, I don't have a gun

Memory, yeah x4

About not being judgmental about how someone changes after not seeing them for a pretty long time.

You're right sorry :)
I once heard this song in an version that seemed "older", but it was itself a cover of Nirvana, but trying to sound as Elvis Presley.. Quite funny

This song to me is about being different and people stereotyping and judging you for it, but i don't know for sure. As for those who keep saying Kurt was murdered, GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES AND ACCEPT THE TRUTH! Why would he make a song called "I hate myself and want to die" and do extensive amounts of heroin if he weren't suicidal. It was people like you who made him kill himself. By the way, he loved Courtney and she loved him. Grow up and be realistic. Next you'll say that Elvis Presley came back from Mars(Cus he isn't really dead either is he?) and killed him. Peace.

Don't yell at people for their opinions! I, also, happen to believe that Kurt didn't kill himself. Back off Grunger!

To me, this song is pretty much about how people judge people without knowing them and how some people want you to everything all at once even though it's impossible.

People like us who killed him?! No no no, i don't think so. After the concert had finished in NY (unplugged) he started embracing kids, with tears in his eyes. I don't think he hated the crowd.

Download the MTV Unplugged version of this song. . Kurt says, "This song was written by the Vasalines. It's a redition of an old Christian song, but we do it the Vasalines way..."

This IS a Nirvana song. The Vasalines cover they do is Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam, but it is titled wrong on the unpluged cd. It is titles Jesus Doesn't Want Me For A Sunbeam. Come As You Are is 100% Nirvana no questions asked.

In response to those who responded to me. I will not back off. I will admit that I was in a bad mood the night I wrote that review, but I'm still going to tell you all that Kurt was the one who ended his life, not Courtney. I can tell you sensitive types were offended by my remark and even went as far as telling me that Kurt had tears in his eyes after unplugged. Sorry, but if he had tears in his eyes, it wasn't for fan appreiciation, it was for the fact that the audience only got excited for the nevermind songs and totally ignored his heart-wrenching songs from In Utero. I do believe it was people like you Courtney Love witch hunters who made him kill himself. By the way butterfly girl, I'm not yelling at you for your opinions, only your ignorance. I'm sick you people thinking you can change the world by lying about something like Kurt's death. He killed himself, end of story. Don't believe me? Ask Dave Grohl, Chris Novoselic, Courtney Love, Bev Cobain and about everybody who knew or knows about Kurt. practically the whole world Believes the suicide theory, so give up, we win. Stop Blaming people like Eddie Vedder, Courtney Love, and Pat Smear for his death. I'm sad he's gone too, but he ain't gonna come back if you say he was murdered, especially when you're stooping so low as to blaming the people he was close to. Don't bother responding to me with more of your "MURDER EVIDENCE" I'm moving on with my life and won't be back to this section of the site again.
Peace,
A true Nirvana fan, not a Courtney Love hater.

I also think that this song is about not being judgemental towards other people and them not being that way to others.

I dont think Kurt cared for the fans, his wife or his kid, and he proved that when he killed himself.Suicide is the ultimate selfish act....he obviously didnt care his suicide would cause hundreds of copycat suicides and he didnt care that his child would not grow without a father.Yeah he made great music, but as a human being, he wasnt much. You can wallow in your self pity or get over it.he obviously didnt get over it.

forget his death, that is just an argument that will have no action this late. Just ;listen to the music, alright? Most of the songs mean to chiil out and be ok, and most of the people on this forum aren't!
Bye!
