Lyrics for Die Die My Darling as interpreted by elmoz

Die Die My Darling Lyrics
GARAGE INC. (1998)

(Original: Misfits)

Die, die, die my darling
Don't utter a single word
Die, die, die my darling
Just shut your pretty eyes

I'll be seeing you again
I'll be seeing you in me

Don't cry to me oh baby
Your future's in an oblong box, yeah
Don't cry to me oh baby
Should have seen it a-comin' on
Don't cry to me oh baby
I don't know it was in your power
Don't cry to me oh baby
Dead-end girl for a dead-end guy
Don't cry to me oh baby
Now your life drains on the floor
Don't cry to me oh baby

Die, die, die my darling
Don't utter a single word
Die, die, die my darling
Just shut your pretty mouth

I'll be seeing you again
I'll be seeing you in Hell

Don't cry to me a baby
Your future is in an oblong box
Don't cry to me oh baby
Should have seen the end a-comin' on, a-comin'
Don't cry to me oh baby
I don't know it was in your power
Don't cry to me oh baby
Dead-end girl for a dead-end guy
Don't cry to me oh baby
Now your life drains on the floor
Don't cry to me oh baby

Die, die, die my darling
Don't utter a single word
Die, die, die my darling
Shut your pretty mouth

I'll be seeing you again
I'll be seeing you in Hell

Die, die, die, die, die, die....

This is a cover song originally recorded by the Misfits. The true song meaning should be listed under them.

Metallica has a cleaner sound, though.

Funny how the best Metallica songs aren't really by Metallica, and Metallica songs by Metallica are best when played by someone else.

Heheh... if you follow that.

If anyone likes this cover, they will be absolutely blown away by the original. Metallica's great at what they do (when they're not sueing everyone), but they make a terrible punk band. *tip to all: see the misfits live, they're fucking awesome*

Too bad Danzig and Graves both left the misfits.. leaving us with less than great live shows. In the words of my photo teacher.. the misfits might be good now, but back then, they were GODS. lol

I get the feeling that most of the people commenting here are punk fans, I personally think this owns the misfits version, I do like that one but the quality and musicianship just aint quite as good.

^^^He speaks the truth. The Misfits just lack the power of Metallica. In fact I cant think of a band that can match the power of Metallica. Sorry guys, I just really hate punk.

Instrumentally both songs are excellent. When it comes to vocals Hetfield just doesn't compare to Danzig, who sounds like Satan singing this song.

This is better than the Misfits Version. Fuckin Eh. THe MIsfits version rock hard though (shows how influential and kick ass they are)-i loved seeing it live. the meaing is kinda obvious.

Metallica also does an also version of 53rd and 3rd (originally by the Ramones)

But this is one of those songs where it MIGHT sound good with a satan sounding man, but in this case, it sounds better with Metallica's voice in there, can go hard, but can always be soft and smooth sounding. Now a song like...The Game by Motorhead, yes that needs a devil sounding singer to it, and when it's done by Drowning Pool, it just doesn't sound as good, even though Drowning Pool is good. Either way, both versions are good but I personally perfer Metallica's.
