Lyrics for Devil's Dance as interpreted by elmoz

Devil's Dance Lyrics
RELOAD (1997)

(Hetfield, Ulrich)

Yeah, I feel you too
Feel, those things you do
In your eyes I see a fire that burns
To free the you
That's wanting through
Deep inside you know,
The seeds I plant will grow

One day you will see
And dare to come down to me
Yeah c'mon, c'mon now take the chance
That's right
Let's dance

Snake, I am the snake
Tempting, that bite you take
Let me make your mind
Leave yourself behind
Be not afraid
I've got what you need
Hunger I will feed

One day you will see
And dare to come down to me
Yeah c'mon, c'mon now take the chance
That's right
Let's dance
Yeah come dancin'

One day you will see
And dare to come down to me
Yeah c'mon, c'mon now take the chance
That's right
Let's dance

Yeah, I feel you too
Feel, those things you do
In your eyes I see a fire that burns
To free the you
That's wanting through
Deep inside you know,
The seeds I plant will grow

One day you will see
And dare to come down to me
Yeah c'mon, c'mon now take the chance
That's right
Let's dance
It's nice to see you here

It is about the devil's attempt to get somebody following him.

It's about lust, and Christianity's view of sex as "sinful" or "evil."

I think it's just tempation of the devil and 'evil' . This is my favorite verse:

Snake, I am the snake
Tempting, that bite you take
Let me make your mind
Leave yourself behind
Be not afraid
I've got what you need
Hunger I will feed

The whole Adam and Eve thing is really cool

One could certainly see this as sexual but I can see this as any scenario when one gives into temptation. The intonation suggests to me this is not exactly sinful, but rather a fulfilment of our deepest naturalist urges, breaking free from this sheltered bubble world of conforming existence.

When I started to read the reviews I have to say I totally disagreed with all of them until I read Dante Sint's explanation which seems to hit Bang on.

Love the S&M version to. The song is about not see your temptation as a terrible thing, it is the opposite. Giving in then you will be satisfactide both animal instincts "sex" and spirituel.
Sin is an unknown word...

I actually take offence to that, because as a Christian, I know that Christians do not in anyway find sex 'sinful' or 'evil'.

But moving on..

This is one of my top three favorite songs by them. It's just brilliant, and even has such a devlish tune to it. I'm just wondering though, why everyone seems to think this song is about sex. There are by far many other temptations out there that anyone could give into.

This song to me says that the devil is trying to get you to join with him, and hes kinda pushin you to side with him. and he's saying with the line "the seeds i plant will grow" that you're gunna end up goin with him no matter what.

I have a different view on this song...

You might call me insane, but who cares..

James says "seeds I plant will grow" and "one day you will see and dare to come down to me" to "dance".

Basically means that all the evil (snake) lyrics he's written are seeds planted in our minds that when bloomed, we will be forced to make a decision; agree, or disagree. If we disagree, who has the balls to face him?

Good riff.

This song is clearly about Christianity's view of sex.

They basically view it as an evil unless you are trying for a child (and marrried).

I think it's about music. People trying to to tell him his music sux. Or a fight, is a devil's dance.
