I see you're dressed to kill
I know I can't wait until
Hallelujah, here she comes

I see you're dressed in black
I guess I'm not coming back
Hallelujah, here she comes

Born and raised
On the wrong side of town
You get so high
That you can't come down
(Yeah)

I see the road is rough
You know I'm not giving up
Hallelujah, here she comes

I know where the lady goes
I know she got a ring on her toes
Hallelujah, here she comes

Born and raised
On the wrong side of town
You get so high
That you can't come down

I'm going higher, higher, higher
Higher, higher, higher
Higher, higher, higher
Higher, higher, higher
I'm gonna be there
When that light's gonna shine
I'm gonna be there
When her heart kindles next to mine
I'm gonna be
Here she comes
Yeah here she comes

I see you're dressed to kill
I know I can't wait until
Hallelujah, here she comes

I see you're dressed in black
I guess I'm not coming back
Hallelujah, here she comes

Born and raised
In the wrong side of town
You get so high
You can't come down

I'm gonna be there
Higher, higher, higher
Gonna get higher, higher, higher
Gonna get higher, higher, higher
Higher, higher, higher

I'm gonna be there
When that light's gonna shine
I'm gonna be there
When that light's gonna shine

Hallelujah, here she comes
Here she comes

General Comment:I can't get a consistent storyline or POV on this song. Is it about a guy overdosing and seeing his wife/girlfriend at his funeral, realizing he's dead? Is it the wife/girlfriend that died of drugs?

Or maybe it's about breaking up, perhaps due to drugs, being from different worlds. Maybe she's wearing a black dress to go to a club/party. Maybe she's cheating on him.

It's been 18 years and I still can't figure it out.

    General Comment:Woman of love
    Cemetery of kisses
Tonight I can write the saddest lines
    Passionate calligraphy
    On this page—petrified letters
    Someone
    Touches my thoughts
    Searches the garbage
    Sudden heap of dust
At the feet of the light
    The end drifts off
    The beginning vanishes
    The beginning drifts off
    The end vanishes

    Whores at dawn
(The enormous mirror—thaws the solitary drinkers …)
    High tension wires
    Tattooed by passion
    The picture empty
    The picture full
    On a piece of canvas
    Plural unique another

General Comment:It's just a simple Gospel Rock accoustic number. I love it.

General Comment:Nah, it's not a shame... they're solid songs, quite possibly the best. There's nothing wrong with a love song having a deeper meaning and perhaps forcing you to think and face a few dark things, only to see the light. This one is a great one, too. The metaphor and spiritual side of this song are pretty clear and... well, I just love it. Positive, amazingly good rock music... could you POSSIBLY have a problem with this?

General Comment:I'm a total sap for U2's sappy, pseudo-religious love songs. It's a damn shame, frankly.
