I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Out of my way, out of my day
Out of your mind and into mine
Into no one, into not one
Into your step but out of time
Headstrong, what's wrong?
I've already heard this song before
You arrived but now it's time to kiss your ass goodbye
Dragging me down, why are you around?
So useless
It ain't my fall, it ain't my call
It ain't my bitch (yeah)
It ain't my bitch
Oh, down on the sun, down and no fun
Down and out, where the hell you been?
Damn it all down, damn it unbound
Damn it all down to hell again
Stand tall, can't fall
Never even bend at all before
You arrived, but now it's time to kiss your ass goodbye
Dragging me down, why are you around?
So useless, yeah
It ain't my fall, it ain't my call
It ain't my bitch
No, out of my way
Out of my way, out of my day
Out of your mind and into mine
Into no one, into not one
Into your step but out of time
Headstrong, what's wrong?
I've already heard this song before
You arrived but now it's time to kiss your ass goodbye
And now it's time to kiss your ass goodbye
Dragging me down, why are you around?
So useless, yeah
It ain't my fall, it ain't my call
It ain't my bitch
No way but down, why are you around?
No fooling, yeah
It ain't my smile, it ain't my style
It ain't my bitch
Oh, it ain't mine
Ain't mine, your kind
You're stepping out of time
Ain't mine, your kind
You're stepping out of time
Taking me down, why are you around?
No fooling
It ain't my fall, it ain't my call
It ain't my, oh, bitch
You ain't mine
Out of your mind and into mine
Into no one, into not one

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Spot On Fixxxer. That Statement's Down To A T. Props To You, Metalhead.
I always thought this song was simply about being chased by a girl that you didn't like, so you gently tell her to fuck off with this song
This song is about a man getting tired of his girlfriend (basically her being a bitch all the time) so he finally has enough of it all and kicks her to the curb.
Jaymz is saying that "it" (something indefinate) is not his problem and to leave him alone.
The lyrics in this song aren't that great, but I love the Riffs and the solo. Jaymz does a Kick-Ass job of singing this thing too.
damn right evil lawyer man great riffs.
well, i do think that this song is great, even the lyrics, just imagine feeling the same way, you would feel the same way, so i find lyrics are ok
i think this is an amazing song, just like all of metallica's music. this song is about people saying that its not their problem so leave them alone. hence, aint my bitch(aint my problem).
