  General Comment:Ever notice how incredible the screaming transition is in this song right after the bridge and before the chorus section where Chino sings "no fist to fucking save you from." I mean that crazy screeching in the background on top of the guitars that sounds like a cat, that is actually Chino's voice. Maybe no one else is shocked by this but for me it always blows me away how he can distort his voice in such odd ways. I didn't even know people could make that noise until i listened to this song and others similar to it like "Be Quiet & Drive."

  General Comment:I think it's about an outgoing girl who he is obsessed with. She has alot of friends and tons of people that help her out and back her up. She's never alone. Maybe he wants her to be completly opposite of that. He wants a girl that he can "save" and support. There's no fist ( abusive boyfriend or person) to save her from though. She has a good life and he can't really walk up and start talking to her because first off, all of her friends are always with her, and theres nothing he could say to her really. " You knock me out". It's so hard trying to talk to you. " I want to be much than more while I watch you" He doesn't want to be so shy around her, but he still is. He wants to be interesting to her, to get her attention, to talk to her... and so do all of the other guys like him.
  
  I love this song. The first time I heard it, was unreal. I had to keep playing it over and over again. The ending is just gorgeous.

  General Comment:this is the first deftones song i ever heard...when i hear it now it takes me back..waaaaay back to being 16 and smoking pot in my room with friends. I think this song is about being betrayed and lied to...and feeling kinda stupid when it's all said and done. just *this* chicks opinion...

  General Comment:the song title "fireal" refers to somone shouting "FIRE!!" like theres an emergency and real refering to the urgency that there is something real happening to the girl but it is ironic because its the exact opposite in the situation

  General Comment:You all are very close(some of you) It is a song about a girl who used him in a way...Ive heard in from several "inside" sources that it is a song about a girl who always used the "woman in distress" excuse to get attention.. hence the line "no fist to fucking save you from"....she used a life in danger situation to try to weasel her way back into his life

  General Comment:I think blackwater has definitely got it down. To me, the "I want to be much, then more" part represents not ever feeling like you're good enough, that no matter how hard you work, how hard you try, you always come up short of the prize, which, in this case, is a girl's affections. I kinda felt this first hand, back in high school, when I was damn near obsessed with this girl, but could never compete with her boyfriend, who pretty much outclassed me in every way. I think Chino had a similar experience, which he expresses quite poignantly in this song. Definitely my favorite Deftones song, one of my favorite songs ever. Period.
