Lyrics for Turn The Page as interpreted by nikuku

Turn The Page Lyrics
On a lonely lonesom highway
east of Omaha
You can listen to the engine moanin'
Out his one long song
You can think about the woman
Or the girl you knew the night before

And your thoughts will soon be wandering
The way they always do
When you're riding sixteen hours
and there's nothing much to do
You don't feel much like ridin'
You just wish the trip was through

Here I am, on the road again
Here I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing the star again
There I go, turn the page

So you walk into this restaraunt
Strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you
As you're shaking off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you
But you just want to explode
Yeah, Most times you can't here 'em talk
Other times you can

Yeah the same 'ole cliches...
Is it woman, is it man?
And you always seem outnumbered
You don't dare make a stand

Here I am, on the road again
Here I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing the star again
There I go, turn the page

Out there in the spotlight
You're a million miles away
Every ounce of energy
You try to give away
And the sweat pours out your body
Like the music that you play

Later in the evening
As you lie awake in bed
The echos of the amplifiers
Ringin' in your head
You smoke the days last cigarette
Remembering what she said
What she said

Here I am, on the road again
Here I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing the star again
There I go, turn the page
There I go, turn the page
There I go, yeah yeah
There I go, Yeah yeah

There I go, yeah
Here I go, yeah
Here I go-oah
Here I go...

and gone.

One of the best covers in the world. Metallica has the ability to incorporate great videos, and great sounds into every song that they produce. There is nothing anyone could say about this song that would be negative because it is all around a great song. James has the voice to do anything he wants with anything and make it sounds awesome. Good choice of a cover and I can't wait for the next.
Listen and Feel.

I heard that the rest of the guys thought the song thought it sounded like something james would write, so they "had" to do it.

Although Bob Seger originally did this song... Metallica does a much better cover. Bob Seger like talks throughout the whole time and you hear a *giggle* saxophone or something in the bwackground. Blah.

When Metallica does it, this song is Rockin'!

This is so much better than the Bob Segar version. Every fricking day at work they play his version of turn the page at 5:00, and it pisses me off! It fails in comparison to Metallica, as most things do. How can anyone say Segar does a better job of singin' this than Jaymz is beyond me. Garage Inc is worth the price for this and Whiskey, if not the rest of the album.

I think Bob Seger made alot of really gay music, but I think the original version of this song was better than Metallicas. Segers version sounded darker, and like it meant more to him when he sang it.

Seger did it as Muzzy said to be dark.. He sung it as he felt about it..

But however Metallica is fucking wicked so yea course they did a good one aswell.... both good.. but Metallica didnt sing it for Segers meaning but for theirs.. and their music taste and style.

I watched the garage inc press kit and this whole album was recorded in a few weeks. Which is amazing cause James voice sounds so awesome! Funny thing is that James HATES bob segar hahahahaa but the song is perfect for Metallica. I just love the haunting guitars and the strong vocals-this has to be one of my fave songs...
