Hey Hey Hey
Here I go now
Here I go into new days
Hey Hey Hey
Here I go now
Here I go into new days
I’m pain, I’m hope, I’m suffer
Yeah Hey Hey Hey Yeah Yeah
Here I go into new days

Hey Hey Hey
Ain’t no mercy
Ain’t no mercy there for me
Hey Hey Hey
Ain’t no mercy
Ain’t no mercy there for me
I’m pain, I’m hope, I’m suffer
Yeah, Yeah, Hey, Hey no mercy
Ain’t no mercy there for me

Do you bury me when I’m gone
Do you teach me while I’m here
Just as soon as I belong
Then it’s time I disappear
HA!!!

Hey Hey Hey
And I went
And I went on down that road
Hey Hey Hey
And I went on
And I went on down that road
I’m pain, I’m hope, I’m suffer
Hey Hey Hey Yeah And I went on
And I went on down that road

Do you bury me when I’m gone
Do you teach me while I’m here
Just as soon as I belong
Then it’s time I disappear

Do you bury me when I’m gone
Do you teach me while I’m here
Just as soon as I belong
Then it’s time I disappear
DIS-A-PPEAR HUH!!!

SOLO

Screaming in the background:
I’m gone I’m gone
I’m gone
Oh yeah I’m gone
I’m gone
I’m gone baby
I’m gone I’m gone

Do you bury me when I’m gone
Do you teach me while I’m here
Just as soon as I belong
Then it’s time I disappear

Do you bury me when I’m gone
Do you teach me while I’m here
Just as soon as I belong
Then it’s time I disappear
Disappear

General Comment:The song is actually about Jason Newstead. Yes he was in the band but Metallica even admitted they never truly let him in. It would always be James, Kurt, and Lars Then there was Jason. Watch the MTV metallica Icon for a bunch of interviews with them and alright covers of their songs

Song Meaning:According to me this song is about someone who is not comfortable with anyone around him, this is the reason he can't belong to anyone.belonging to someone is not his thing.......MetallicA RULES.....

General Comment:I highly doubt it was about Jason leaving because Jason was still in the band at that time.

But it is possible that because Jason was doing side projects when everyone started to accept him, they wrote this song.

General Comment:The song reminds me a lot about Jason's departure, idk just the lyrics remind me of Newsted dissapearing from Metallica(the departure)

General Comment:I know this song was written while Jason was still in the band, but you can't help but see the correlation to his departure. Especially since this was his last song with the band, you can't help but wonder if it's about him. Now, we know that Jason didn't write it. Lars and James traditionally wrote everything, and notoriously didn't let Jason have input on anything. But the line "Just as soon as I belong, then it's time I disappear" has always sounded to me like it's about Jason. We all know that he was hazed during his entire tenure with the band. The others took out their frustrations about Cliff's death on him for years. But now that Jason finally had become part of the Metallica family, he wanted out. So he left. I'm not saying James wrote this about Jason to push him away. But maybe it was one of those subconscious things. When it was written I don't think it was supposed to be about Jason, but looking back on it, it's hard not to see it.

General Comment:For a long time, I thought the lyrics to part of the song was "I'm in pain and I hope I suffer".
When you say "I am" you are talking about a noun. Suffer is NOT a noun, it is a verb.
Anyway, yeah this was Jason Newsted's final song. Why though, would Jason perform in it if it was about him? While he didn't write too many songs, he would have been told why the guys were writing each one wouldn't he? Or at least have some idea.

General Comment:This song was on the mission impossible 2 soundtrack, and probably the 1st ever song I heard by Metallica.
"I Disappear" From a personal point of view from listening to the song and reading the lyrics, doesn't necessarily have to be about death or dying, but about running away from your problems, from a personal point of view disappearing from those who you thought you were close to, even running away and disappearing off the face of the earth forever without a trace, though not necessarily choosing death as a pathway.
