I have climbed the highest mountains
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you

I have run I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in the fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was one empty night
I was cold as a stone
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

I believe when the Kingdom comes
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
But yes I'm still running.
You broke the bonds
You loosened the chains
You carried the cross
Of my shame
Of my shame
You know I believed it
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

General Comment:Okay. this song, I heard it a couple years back at church camp. and then i had it in my head today. And if any of ya'll ever listen to Switchfoot, they have this song called "Restless" which, kinda says the same type of thing as this song. Every day, we will search & search for God. we will become "Restless" in a spiritual sense. In this song the guy, says he is doing all this stuff but he still hasn't found what he's looking for. the point is, we are going to spend Life restlessly looking for God and we won't actually, wholly find him till we die. but I also do believe in the process of our searching restlessly throught our lives, we can find environments of what the kingdom of heaven will be like. Or we can be the example of what the Kingdom of heaven is like. we can run the highest mountains. and scale city walls. and through it all we can catch a glimpse of the kingdom of heaven, But until we die. we will be restlessly searching, running the highest mountains, only to Find & know & Love the kingdom of Heaven that God has prepared for us.

General Comment:I always thought the words in the fifth line were

"You broke the THORNS and you loosed the chains" not "the bonds"

As in Jesus' crown of thorns? Maybe I'm wrong.

General Comment:A lot of U2 songs seam to correlate with themes found in the writings of C.S. Lewis, this song in particular. The theme here is that we all have some inner yearning that can't be satisfied, even though we pursue a lot of things aimed at doing so. Things like love (paras. 1-2), sex (para. 3), sin in general (para. 5). Unfortunately, even believers in Christ still haven't found what they're looking for, because (as Thor66 said in the beginning) we won't satisfy that yearning until we die and (hopefully) go to heaven.

This message if for you and only you. If you want to touch people you should sing this song... It is called The Revelation Song.
"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain and Holy Holy is He
Sing a new song To Him who sits on Heavens mercy seat

    CHROUS
HOLY HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY WHO WAS AND IS AND IS TO COME
WITH ALL CREATION I SING PRAISE TO THE KING OF KINGS . YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING AND I WILL ADORE YOU

Clothed in rainbows of living color flashes of lightining rolls of thunder blessing, honour, strength and glory and power be and to you the only wise king

    CHROUS

Filled with wounder all strcked wonder at just the meation of you name, Jesus your name is power wrapped in living water such a marvolous mystery

CHROUS HOLY HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY WHO WAS AND IS AND IS TO COME
WITH ALL CREATION I SING PRAISE TO THE KING OF KINGS . YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING AND I WILL ADORE YOU"

General Comment:Up in the text -"You know I believed it", as though he was disappointed.
Haven't it be - "believe" instead, or i have a hearing problem?

General Comment:This is about a man, committed to good. Who would have been an influential ?clergyman, or someone in a very good position to help ease suffering in this world. But for the fact that you cannot break through the barriers and make a real difference.
There are religions that do not allow music due to its influence. Most practice it as a way to unify people.
I think he has decided to ease suffering through music.
