Lyrics for Master of Puppets as interpreted by elmoz

Master of Puppets Lyrics
End of passion play, crumbling away
I'm your source of self-destruction
Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear
Feeding on your death's construction
Taste me you will see
More is all you need
You're dedicated to
How I'm killing you

Come crawling faster (faster)
Obey your master (master)
Your life burns faster (faster)
Obey your master (master)
Master, master
Master of Puppets I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master, master
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master, master

Needlework the way, never you betray
life of death becoming clearer
Pain monopoly, ritual misery
chop your breakfast on a mirror
Taste me you will see
More is all you need
You're dedicated to
How I'm killing you

Come crawling faster (faster)
Obey your master (master)
Your life burns faster (faster)
Obey your master (master)
Master, master
Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master, master

Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master master master master master

Master, master, where's the dreams that I've been after?
Master, master, you promised only lies
Laughter, laughter, all I hear and see is laughter
Laughter, laughter, laughing at my cries

FACE ME!!!

Hell is worth all that, natural habitat
just a rhyme without a reason
Never-ending maze, drift on numbered days
now your life is out of season

I will occupy
I will Help you die
I will run through you
Now I'll rule you, too

Come crawling faster (faster)
Obey your master (master)
Your life burns faster (faster)
Obey your master (master)
Master, master
Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master, master

Ha- Ha- Ha- Ha- Ha- Ha- Ha- Ha

The Het do drugs ha no. It's just a song. One sick ass one if you ask me.
Also if you think he says Face Me before Kirk's solo you're are deaf as hell. It's clearly FIX ME!
One awesome song lots of riffage the slow parts make me tear up it's so awesome especially if you learn how to play it.

This song is clearly about drugs, its saying that drugs destroy your dreams, but you are dedicated to them because you can't stop, you will always more ect. you get it. and everyone who thinks that it is about war or that metallica does drugs is absolutley wrong.

I honestly only think this is about drugs and addictions and how bad they're for you and why you shouldnt do em.

"Taste me you will see, more is all you need"

Its like the drug is talking to you.

"Master, master, where's the dreams that I've been after?
Master, master, you promised only lies"

Thats were Metallica is telling you not to do drugs. When you do drugs and you get high, you feel really good about your self, and you feel that you can accomplish anything (well i think that, i havent done drugs though, and dont plan on it, so im only talking with other peoples experience,), but in the end, the drugs was making you think all these things that weren't true, or you could just say the drug was making you think "lies" to your self.

Its about manipulation, promising everything then giving nothing but they still follow you in hopes of gaining what was promised

Our govt/big brother is the one who runs the drug cartell! They want us killing ourselves. Yeah, I lost someone through cocaine, more than one person actually. I still think about them. Glad I got out while I was ahead. Different association now.
Google Prison Planet tv and see the reality of what big brother is doing to you and to me, to our children and future generations! Make a choice not to fall into that trap. Unforgiven, yeah, they screwed with us from birth knowing we'd need to self-medicate. Get knowledge, let the fuel you crave be the fuel of action, action toward knowing the truth and exposing the real demons. We are only victims who need to make the claim of survivors!!!

Master of Puppets is about something controlling something. It can be related to a lot of things (such as drug addicts) but it's most likely war related - how soldiers blindly serve the army and many die at the hands of the men at the top (politicians, generals etc.). This is evident on the album cover - a graveyard with puppet strings - soldiers that have fallen as a result of serving as puppets to greater powers. This song ties together with 'Disposable Heroes'. Give it a good listen, you'll see...

I think the heavy beginning and its lyrics represents the urges a drug addict feels. The sudden transition to the slow calm part with no lyrics represents the return to "normalcy" once the urges are given in to and the addict uses the drug. The slow fade to the even faster and heavier ending, especially including the solo, represents a mix of the high ending and guilt for giving in to the cravings. There's more interpretation to this song than just the lyrics.

it's quite obvious that this song was made with no intentional meaning. Basically you only need a couple words to sum it up Metallica likes crack, booze etc... hey why not write a song about our bad habits and tack a badass title onto it and play a bunch of power cords to accompany them with straight forward lyrics that clearly imply where addicted to this shit.

this is about a game the members of metallica used to play (mainly james and lars) where they would all get naked and close their eyes. a tour manager would tap one of them on the head and the chosen one would jerk off the other band members, it was aptly named because the jerk-ees would have to guess which one of their bandmates was the "master of puppets"

is it super hard to believe that four of the most rocking alcohalics in history wrote a thinly veiled song about addiction. its muh-fucking-tallica, they don't need to write in complicated shit.

its obvious that people think this is about drugs, others think its about satan, or god, or the government, or a controlling person, or...
there are so many things people can relate this song to, and its just a matter of personal opinion.
what are you addicted to? what consumes you?
i don't think this can be one thing, but it can be anything that consumes someone, that one is addicted to.

It's about addiction to heroin ("Needlework the way") and cocaine ("Chop your breakfast on a mirror"). The drugs basically beome your masters, as it's almost impossible to ignore the cravings. I always think of this song as a low blow at Dave Mustaine.

This song is about heroin and cocaine, and their effect on people. The drug becomes the master of the person that takes it because the person needs it. Even though the drug isn't alive, it is, in a sense, controlling the addict.

On an unrelated note, the title reminds me of the 1980's horror movie Puppet Master about marionettes with human souls in them that usually kill people. This has nothing to do with the song, I know.

I think its about addiction there are very clear verses referring to drugs as a main addiction but I think the song can also be related to any other addiction/control a matter(drugs, liquor, cigs,,,) or person(gover, authority, boss,) has on people....
