jayman: yea... i know he has a band behind him... but my basic point was that he writes his own songs and composes the melodies.... all his songs are driven by him and in my opinion... he really doesn't need the band behind him. that's all.

"miles from coltrane" is the best line in the song
i can relate...i like girls/women that arent trying to do/be too much...not to glamarous

Definately one of the best songs in the entire world. One of my top picks, no doubt. John Mayer writes incredible lyrics. It's just amazing. I almost can't put into words how beautiful his songs are, heh.

this song puts into words what i think so many people feel but simply don't know how to express. it's so emotional, you can hear the raw feelings in his voice. it's so pure and untainted. anyone who has experienced this kind of "comfortable love" and even those who have yet to endure such love can relate to this song. when an artist can write a song and have it touch so many people in so many different ways, they can only be described as amazing...

I just heard this song for the first time yesterday. My boyfriend is a huge John Mayer fan and got me into him. Anyway, I can relate to this song completely - my boyfriend and I went out, broke up, and got back together. He went out with this other girl, and all of his friends told him it was good for him, but he loved me. And he got me back. We were listening to it and I told him that it makes me sad until the end, where he says "I'm not impressed/I want you back". We have that comfortable kind of love, and I'm so happy, even though he's three hours away at college.

WOW! What a beautiful and real song! When I first heard this song a few days ago, It literally sent chills down my spine. Although everything John sings does. Such a love song. my favorite line ~She swears the bible is all that she reads, Prefers that I not use profanity.....

OMG. i love John Mayer. i saw him this past week in Austin and then in Dallas... i was supposed to go to the waco show too. which i heard was awesome.. man i love him sooo much.. he seems like the coolest guy ever. and i just love every song he does. and i think this one is at the top of my list now!!!! :-D

i just went to his show in Cary, NC and i was kinda disappointed that he didn't play this song but OMG... his show was AWESOME! and he was soooo hott!!!..... he was great.... and guster played before he did and they were good... better than i thought........... peace out

Hi, i want John Mayer so bad it hurts.
This song definitely makes me cry... it's so beautiful, and it just proves how guys have feelings too!!! I mean, that girl totally broke John's heart. You can also relate it to friendship... when friends just decided they're sick of you? Yeah, so down-to-earth.
Also, when i saw Mayer in November, this was one of his encores. ::tear::

john mayer is the best. you can feel the emotions in what he sings. he's even better live, cant wait for the next time he comes near me again. my dad was amazed that when he sang at the grammys john sounded just like his album and not fixed or synthesized or anything like that

John Mayer is a great acoustic guitar player. This song is soo deep and meaningful. It just shows how a person that might look totally wrong for you, is actually the perfect one, while the perfect girl is actually the wrong one. I can relate to this song a lot.

I've been into Mayer for a while and I have to admit I liked his solo work better than his work from "room for squares"...but thats just my opinion as a fellow guitarist. Still a pretty good song.

This song is by far my favorite song by John Mayer. I have not yet heard one song from John that I have not liked, but this one stands out overall. We all have, or at least will love someone in our life that we can't hold onto forever, and we'll always find that other person to replace them. The rebound will never ever be anything like your first love, especially when you're sitting there and comparing them constantly. John hit it right on the spot with his 'I loved you, grey sweatpants, no makeup, so perfect.' True love is being able to look at someone without their drawn on faces and still loving them pure as all hell, loving them more as they are.
