Lyrics for Comfortable as interpreted by wherewulf

Comfortable Lyrics
I just remember that time at the market
You snuck up behind me
And jumped on my shopping cart
You rolled down aisle five
You looked behind you to smile back at me
Crashed in to a rack full of magazines
They asked us if we could leave
Can't remember
What went wrong last September
Though I'm sure you'd remind me if you had to

Our love was comfortable
And so broken in

I sleep with this new girl
I'm still getting used to
My friends all approve saying
"She's going to be good for you"
They throw me high fives
She swears the bible is all that she reads
Prefers that I not use profanity
Your mouth was so dirty
Life of the party
And she swears that she's artsy
But you could distinguish Miles from Coltrane

Our love was comfortable
And so broken in
She's perfect, so flawless
Or so they say

She thinks I can't see the smile thats she's faking
And poses for pictures that aren't being taken
I loved you
Gray sweatpants
No makeup
So perfect

Our love was comfortable
And so broken in
She's perfect, so flawless
I'm not impressed
I want you back

MixMasterMatty, how can you say that this is a good tune? I was unaware that Dave Matthews changed his name to John Mayer. They are both terrible musicians, and a tip for John Mayer is to stop copying a artist that is horrible. All the songs sound exactly the same, I find it difficult to tell when a sog ends and the next one begins. In conclusion, John Mayer is untalented and everyone who likes them is border line retarded.

Seeing John live was probably the best concert experience of my life thus far. He's a real poet, with an amazing knack for knowing exactly what to say. He played 'comfortable' for his last encore at my concert too... He played it totally acoustic with the "I want you back" intro... absolutely breath taking. I'm a true Johnny fan... he's the best.

Hunter--- John DOES Have a song called "No Such Thing" but he also does have a song called "Lifelines"

This song means so much to me. My exboyfriend sent me some of the lyrics after we broke up (because we were still on good terms and he wanted to see if we could work it out)
"I loved you
Gray sweatpants
No makeup
So perfect

Our love was comfortable
And so broken in
She's perfect, so flawless
I'm not impressed
I want you back"
It practically made me keel over in tears. Whenever I hear this song, I still start to get a little bit emotional. He was actually the person who introduced me to John Mayer. Now, I love his stuff. His songs are so pure and true. They really mean something, you know? I mean, they're not junked up with all of this deep crap that no one understands, but at at the same time, aren't meaningless. What a wonderful artist

LiveUrLife, you wrote in your response that you liten to both Dave Matthews and John Mayer quite often, which proves my point. They sound exactly the same and from my experience in listening to them, not by choice, they sound entirely the same. Also, LiveUrLife, you don't deny the fact that they sound identical. So LiveUrLife, perhaps you should do just that and no listen to either of these

This song gives instant heartache at the same time it gives release. The person who is best for you may not be the one you love- impressing people can only get you so far... it might even actually hurt the relationship. Comfort is a lot better than intimidation (speaking from experience). Beautiful lyrics...

I would just love to be in a realtionship that was Comfortable and where i could be that girl with no make up and just grey sweatpants, I had that once:)

John is an amazing singer, writer and guitar player, but i'm sure you already knew that!

hey nerdy, i agree they are similiar but they're not identical, they are both completely unique. And even so, i just didnt like the fact that you insult other peoples tastes in music. who cares what music you listen to? i know i dont. so dont care what music i listen 2, its pretty simple if you dont like a song, comment your opinion on it, dont comment how you feel about the people who listen to it.

I'm with LiveUrLife... except for the fact that John Mayer is a much better lyricist, vocalist, and guitarist than Dave. I play both of their music, and John Mayer has a totaly different style. Oh yeah, Comfortable is one of John Mayer's best! I've played the crap out of it a million times.

what the hell is y'alls deal? if you hate john mayer and DMB so much, then why are you wasting your time insulting all of us on here that do? obviously we're all going to disagree so youre wasting your breath..pretty petty. calling us "retarded" for liking a certain musician is pretty "retarded" in its own right. LiveUrLife, screw this guy, im with you. And NerdytheWall, do you even play the guitar? If you did, I think youd realize how difficult the tabs (if you play them the right way for dave, no cheating, kids) really are...the guy's amazing. Don't insult 2 guys who are out there on a daily basis playing and working hard at it..it's a lot easier to criticize than it is to actually DO something. hey FosterKid, I agree..damn good song to play..I'm a big fan of '83 and 3x5...my fingers are about to start bleeding dude

This song reminds me boyfriend of our relationship after we broke up, but now we're together once more, but all of john's mayer songs can be related to, he is one of our best artist's today and his music should be more widely recognized.
