I think that this song is about how quickly the world can just dump you and leave you to fend for yourself...life isn't fair, and you better believe that it could happen to you, cause if you don't you're gonna be totally unprepared for it if it does.

well done madcappunk. more specifically I think he's talking about being a punk.

He's in a sense criticizing stubborn punks who believe they can overcome the system.

And yes life does tend to dump you, but Greg's is saying that it all depends on who you are. If you are a punk you've got a better chance of getting dumped, so if you choose this way of life you'd better be prepared to live it.

this song is amazing. it's the standout track from new america. it also marks the first collaboration of song writers Brett Gurewitz and Greg Graffin since Brett left the band in 1994. He also plays giutar in this song. i would have to say this song paved the way for Brett's rejoining the band, as well as BR making their triumphant return to Epitaph records, and regaining that magic that only Greg and Brett can create when sharing song writing duties
