We've got no time to lose
Your news is old news
Hate this, hate me, hate this
Right approach for the wrong
It's time to spread the word
Let the voice be heard
All of us, one of us, all of us
Dominate and take the motherfucking world

Mass prediction, unification
Breathing life into out lungs
Every creed and every kind
To give us depth for strength

Taught when we're young to hate one another
It's time to have a new reign of power
Make pride universal so no one gives in
Turn our backs on those who oppose
Then when confronted we ask them the question
That's wrong with their mind?
What's wrong with your mind?

[Chorus]
It's time to rise

We've lived with past mistakes
And we've lived with our own
Forgive, forget forgive
Be a man, not a child
There are to tears for peace
Of the common sympathies
Educate, reinstate, educate
A thing of past
The trouble in the states

It's time to rise

My Interpretation:This is pretty much the most metal song about peace, mass integration, and standing up for yourself. Bob Marley and Lennon would (maybe) be proud.

General Comment:I always thought the line was "make pot universal, so no one gives in..." I thought it was a reference to the initial intention the government had to use marijuana for mind control. But I like the real line of "Make pride universal so no one gives in" better. That line alone proves that this is not a racist song. Phil doesn't want ANYONE to be subordinate. He wants EVERYONE to stand up for themselves. Hence "universal."

General Comment:Helmet's "Unsung" sounds quite similar to this song. Musically wise.

I'm thinking the lyrical meaning to this is quite simple. Letting go of the past and uniting to fight as one. Its not a racist song whatsoever.

General Comment:Phil Anselmo is not a fucking racist - he loves boxing, he has admitted that not one of his heroes is white... If you heard an interview with him, he tells all people who believe he's a racist to go fuck themselves - along with regligios zealots and backstabbing pieces of corporate shit... Same corporate shit who made Pantera and Down aplit

General Comment:Pantera is seen as racists be cause people who don't know better see posters/album covers/shirts/hats/etc with confederate flags on them. Put that with the hardcore, southern, thrash-metal/punk like sound they have, plus the sometimes very harsh lyrics on hard subject matter, people accuse. I see different meaning in this song though, sort of like the supreme badass; move the fuck out of my way before you fucking die, join us or die sort of vibe :D
