To get up and walk away will be too easy
So stay and stand your ground just watch your mouth with me
On the back of every right, there's a wrong looming
So here you and I should tread assault
As these razorblades for boots will it be

Have you ever tried to step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried to balance that beam?
And if you ever try to fit in my shoes
They'll never be quite as soft as they seem

Unabashed honesty would be ideal
But a prophet did once say, that honesty's our only word
So where do we go from here? Abandon ship now!
My problem is you made me melt and I don't want to be frozen anymore

Have you ever tried to step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried to balance that beam?
And if you ever try to fit in my shoes
They'll never be quite as soft as they seem

Oh oh no oh no

Have you ever, have you ever tried to, I have never, I have never tried to!

Have you ever tried to step in my shoes?
Have you ever tried to balance that beam?
And if you ever try to fit in my shoes
They'll never be quite as soft as they seem

....such powerful words I experience, and I would rather truth and setting my own boundaries than to conform to what society tells us is "normal".....

    I love this song.

General Comment:The song isn't about him and girlfriend who just broke up. It's about him having a girlfriend who always does shit behind his back, but doesn't want him doing anything with anybody else, and expecting him to be okay with it. Here, he's saying, "Have you ever tried putting yourself in my shoes?" Asking the girl if she ever thinks about how her actions will emotionally/psychologically affect him. Asking if she ever thought what she would do, if he did the same thing to her that she did/does to him.

General Comment:I've got a question. In the song he says, "but a profit did once say that honesty's a lonely word."

In a Billy Joel song called 'honesty' he says 'honesty is a lonely word.'

Is this a mere Coincidence or is Brandon calling Billy Joel a profit?

General Comment:Not to Mention the line is

"My Problem is you MAKE me melt and I don't want to be frozen anymore"

Listen to it again, it's pretty obvious, Unlike most people now-a-days I actually Bought the CD in a store not online, And I have the lyrics booklet

General Comment:Hey "Gretchenwieners", stop being an ass and try to read between the lines. It's a metaphor. Idiot... If every song used the complete explanation, it'd be an essay, not a song.

General Comment:Nothing logical....the line you made me melt and i don't want to be frozen anymore doesn't even make sense. If you already melted then how are you frozen? Unless you were re-frozen but it doesn't say anything about that. So lets use a little common sense and not cry and masturbate to this song.
