    General Comment:sorry to disappoint all the deep-thinkers, but gube is right. I have heard almost the exact same guitar story. Pete wrote this song out of curiosity of this guitar he bought...he wondered who the previous owner was and what the guitar had been through. So he wrote this song from the guitar's perspective. Makes sense if you read it that way.

    General Comment:I'm not gonna lie, I don't think you're right. I think this song's all about a friend who's jealous of another relationship, or sick to death of warning someone about their lover.

    So he finally gives up. Take him home...when your car crash comes, don't be misled. Don't whine about how much life sucks all of a sudden after I've been telling you he's no good for so long.

    And I've been listening to Pete since senior year of high school - five or six years now. I just saw him last week at the 9.30 club, and he was as amazing as always.

    General Comment:I think a girl tells the guy that she cannot date him anymore. This song is his response: he knows that she still wants to be with him, and that they should stay together. "So take your lessons hard and stay with him / And when your car crash comes don‘t be mislead" Those lines are telling the girl to stay with the guy, and even if things start to fall apart, to stay with him, because it is worth it to stay together.

    General Comment:I really truly love this song. When I was taking the SATs this year (not the high school ones, the fake ones, I was in eighth grade) I made a mix of songs I'd listen to secretly. This was the opening song on the CD, and every time I hear it, it takes me back to that week, which was one of my best weeks in my whole life, I was testing with my favorite class, sitting close to the guy I liked, in the library with food, and I got out of other classes. Good times. Thank you, Pete Yorn.
