0General Comment:I heard it was about Novak, but double checked and it was actually more likely a homage to Shelley Winters. More plausible seeing as she starred opposite Mitchum in "The Night of the Hunter"...

0General Comment:According to Wikipedia, this song is about the actress Kim Novak (who by no means was 'fat'!). Mitchum and Novak never starred in a movie together though, and the movie titles are also fictional.
