You killed your European son
You spit on those under twenty-one
But now your blue car's gone
You better say so long
Hey hey, bye bye bye
You made your wallpapers green
You want to make love to the scene
Your European son is gone
You'd better say so long
Your clown's bid you goodbye

General Comment:Discrimination against those who are free, young (both literally and in mentality) and aware. A message to parents, to the intellectuals, to the elite and to anyone who tries to control anyone else in any way imaginable. The freedom explored in the noise is just a literal example of this message.

General Comment:The breaking plates is great, but I don't think it would be as effective without the 4-second roar that precedes it. I can't even speculate what the source of that noise might be... anyone ?

General Comment:The lyric is definitely 'now your blue collar's gone'. No one can touch this song. It breaks pop and rock as literally as they can be broken.

General Comment:Ha, a friend of mine who turned me onto VU used to laugh at me for listening to metal when I was younger, calling it 'men masturbating with guitars'.

He stopped after I reminded him of this song. Great one though. Apparently the 'explosion' is John Cale hitting a stack of plates with a chair.

General Comment:the sort of 'explosion' after the final lyrics, made me laugh out loud, it came out of nowhere, such an interesting song, great way to finish off this sort of album

General Comment:i think it takes a different kind of person to listen to the velvet underground and actually hear what they're putting accross...you either have to be totally high...or have a more open mind then most...this song is the perfect example with its mixed melodies and untamed perfection. brilliant song.

General Comment:Delmore Schwartz also had a hatred for pop music forms, reflected in the song's cacophony.
