So, now listen here
I wanna be, ohh so clear
I lost my soul, lost I'll stay
Between your hands, and my beliefs

And here I am
Frail
Frail and bedazzled from all the glare

Tug, at my sleeve
My little girl, supermaid
She don't know, that I have
Stole my smile, from a cheshire cat

And all I wanted
Was to be a man
And since I gave up
I feel free
I feel free
I feel free
I feel free

Two of us that's dangerous
It's all inside our heads
Givin' in for nothin' less
Leavin' me for him

Try
To understand
The ones I love
And their demands
It's so unfair
When they can't see
That I'm the boy
Who really needs

Their love
I suppose

Frail and bedazzled from all the
Frail and bedazzled from all the
Frail and bedazzled from all the glare

General Comment:Is the last line in the first stanza "plans" or "hands?" I always heard it as "plans," which would go along with the passive aggressive tone of the lyrics.

My Interpretation:So few comments on this awesome track!? So simple, but so powerful (love the ending!.

I think it certainly has to do with some sort of relationship where the character is dealing with fame and love simultaneously, while having to put on a face (e.g. "Stole my smile/from a cheshire cat") to "please" both parties--though the character is unsure/tried (or "frail") of his persona and willing to mask (or "bedazzle") it until he finds confidence in himself and the very different entities he is apart of.

    And all I wanted

    And since I gave up
    I feel free

Like there's no point living for other people's expectations.

General Comment:Yeah, all the above - it's upon his gradual adjustment to local fame, that girls he tries to date are all too giving, and in kind, forcing him to, in his own mind, be the controlling ogre. He hates that concept, but he admits he's still frail and bedazzled from all the "glare" (of popularity). It was all too confusing at the time, and it was impacting the normal course of his personal relationships

General Comment:I reckon it's about a rocky relationship, and he's acting like he doesn't dislike the relatonship yet deep down he dies.
