I lie I wait I stop I hesitate I am.
I see I melt I think of me.
Is it any wonder I can't sleep.
All I have is all you gave to me.
IS it any wonder I found peace.
Through you.

Turn to the gates of heaven turn myself around(around).
Turn away from I.
Its not enough.
Just a touch. It's not enough.
I taste.

I Love I can I bleed I love
I hate I'm now I was I want too much
Is it any wonder I can't sleep, all
Have is all yo gave to me is it any wonder I found peace.

Through you. Turn to the gates of heaven to myself be damned turn away from I.
It's not enough. Just a touch. It's not enough.

Just a touch. Its not enough. Just a touch.
It's not enough. Just a touch. Its not enough. Just a touch. Its not enough.
Just a touch...

General Comment:I gotta say I mostly agree with melloncolliezero. It is about god, and I as well am an Athiest. What makes me think it has to do with god is "is it any wonder I found peace through you." It's about how religion brings you comfort in a chaotic and hellish world, if you believe it. I think the "just a touch, not enough" parts refer to how religion can bring you some sort of comfort, but its still not enough for those who question. He also says he's "turning away from the gates of heaven, to myself be damned." This is the punctual statement saying that he is choosing to be true to himself, rather than follow religion.

General Comment:I can't help but think of an addicts relationship with thier true love which is what ever drug they are addicted to. They can never get enough, they always just want a little more, they depend on their drug to get peace in their lives.

General Comment:I think "eye" has to do with the eye on the pyramid in the dollar bill. The eye that watches over us, the secrete society that control the world, ect, ect. We know Billy was kinda into this stuff since his last album is called Zeigtgeist.

General Comment:I like the ideas people are throwing around but I don't think its about a girl. I think it's about god (im an atheist so dont worry about me getting all religiousy about it ha). But the line "Just a touch, it's not enough" and "Is it any wonder I found peace though you?" immediately draw my mind to the subject of god. The just a touch part makes me picture the famous painting of god touching whoevers firgers and Billy kinda saying its not enough, I know it's way out there but it seems like Billys kinda saying god doesn't do enough for humanity or whatever.

General Comment:This man is brilliant. When 1-3 word phrases make perfect sense, then you know you can write.

Song Meaning:Throughout the song Billy Corgan desribes emotions/actions that reflect how he feels everyday because of internal conflict. During the chorus, Corgan sings "Is it any wonder I can't sleep? All I have is all you gave to me" This has to be either God or someone close to him, but it can't be God though because of Corgan's other songs, where he clearly states that "God is empty just like me", "Jesus was the only son for you", "ETC. So it has to be a lover, a relative, or pethaps even himself, which would be someone close to him. Also, I believe that Corgan might have once thought of turning to God because of the line "Turn to the gates of heaven" but, he also says that "To myself be damned" which relates to his other song "Bullet with butterfly wings" where he says "I still believe that I cannot be saved". This self condemnation is what makes him turn away from the light. The peace that he found was realizing that he is happy with who he is. Which would go with the first person aspect of the song. Any opinions?

General Comment:For such a seemingly anti-sex song, the chords and music itself is incredibly sexy and haunting. I find it to be ironic.

General Comment:When I hear this song, it makes me think of pure, dark, twisted obsession for someone, that is apparently growing more and more out of control.
