A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...
He says that for the punk rock scene he'd give his fucking life
But he's only ever paid to see a show once maybe twice
Instead he stands outside the halls and pan handles for beer
Then sneaks into the hall to deface the bathroom mirror
A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...his name is "Captain Anarchy," but only in his mind
A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...so punk that he's a poser and he'll be one till he dies
You never saw an anarchist with such perfect hair
Or so many ten dollar spikes, or so much punk rock gear
He said he used his welfare checks to buy his boots and plaids
In reality it was all paid for by his mom and by his dad
A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...his name is "Captain Anarchy," but only in his mind
A-N-A-R-C-H-Y...he's anarchy incarnate but only in his (mind)
You know he just can't see Oi! Oi! Oi!
It's up to you and me * * *
I don't want to be * * *
Fighting, let's stride for...SOME UNITY!

Anarchists?
People who go to Hot Topic?
People who hate religion?
People with Mohawks?
Serious drinkers?
Straight Edge people?
Hardline people?
Fans of green day?
Kids with 10$ spikes?
People who beat their significant other?
People who start fights and win?
People who start fights and lose?
People who never got anything higher than a b?
People who listen to the Ramones?
People who are emo?
See, the possibilities never end.
And I am not saying any of the above groups of people are punks.
I'm just sayin that what or who is really punk will never be decided.
I thought Anti-Flag was like watching him and taking notes for this song.
This song has nothing to do with anarchy, only posers.
For all of the people here bashing anarchy, YOU DON"T HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOU"RE TALKING ABOUT! As for
"if any of you ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND anarchy and its theory, you will surely recognize that it makes no sense!...the anarchists were a bunch of drunk bastards that just wanted to kill and reak havoc as they are today"
THATS RIDICULOUS!
Anarchists are essentially pacifists! The violence of the state (police, soldiers, economic oppression) is much worse than the violence neccessary for any anrchist revolution to defend itsself from the state.
And whoever said that anarchy is contrary to unity, you have no clue what anarchy is. Anarchy is all about worker solidarity and unity to fight class oppression!
Anarchy is about the fact that nobody has the right to "own" any productive property just "use" it.
Anti-flag may say they're not anarchist, but their views are.
Except for hiring people: anarchists view this as wage slavery.
If you're going to attack anarchist theory, at least take the time to understand it.
Read some anarchist articles at least.
Or even wikipedia.
And read Parecon: Life after Capitalism
An in latin means "Un", archy means "Government", which when put together means "Un-Government".
Laws still exist, except it's more moral law.
As in, don't kill someone, work together, etc.
You're all very ignorant if you think anarchists don't promote unitiy.
Solidarity is our fucking catch-phrase!
Anarchism wants to get rid of capitalism and leaders, instead of voting for someone to lead us, we'd all make decisions TOGETHER.
And if someone tries to kill me, guess what they just did? Tried to take away my right to freedom, and it'd be perfectly justifiable for me to try and stop him from killing me.
There's nothing wrong with self-defense, as long as it is only defense, and not you trying to kill them.
Anarchists believe in justice, but in our current society, it's not justice these people are getting, it's revenge.
Stop being idiots and assuming you know what anarchism is, go on wikipedia and look it up.
There's all sorts of anarchism, anarcho-communism, anarcho-pimitivism, anarcho-capitalism, anarcho-syndicalism and anarcho-feminism.
But yeah, the song isn't bashing anarchists, it's bashing the kids who think they know what anarchism is.
The line "You've never seen an anarchist with such perfect hair." is saying more or less "An anarchist doesn't spend shit loads of money on his hair, because it would be against his beliefs."
And don't forget "He's anarchy incarnate but only in his (mind)." which obviously means he only thinks he's an anarchist, but everyone knows he's a poser.
Maybe anti-flag isn't an anarchist band, but I'd like to think they aren't bashing on real anarchists, otherwise it'd show how un-eduacated they are.
i love this song, it reminds me so much of this girl I know who refers to herself as an anarchist and shit, and she's really just a snotty brat, she cries and whines and bitches when her mom doesn't get her something (literely) and she's only 12. she also claims she knows what punk is, and it's just pathetic, alot of people say punk is about being the shittiest rudest mother fucker you can be, and i just think thats bullshit, cause first of, what kind of PERSON does that make you? beside being punk, that makes a god damn horrible person in my book and i think those people should just be ripped apart at the seem, punk to me is about unity, and feeling part of something bigger then yourself, and no matter what you believe in just standing up for it, and fighting for it.
