This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
Ska sucks. Ska revival isn't cool, you stupid fuck. The bands are only in it for the bucks. And if you don't believe me you're a schmuck. But the trend will die out with any luck. Rudy, a message to you Rudy... Fuck you Rudy!

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
what can I say? I like ska and I love this song
The group also likes ska, they just didn't appreciate the commercial popularity it received in the 90's.
haha me too. this song is pretty cool
lol, yah i like some ska but how can u dissagree with such a catchy song
There's only 1 ska band I like, Less Than Jake. This song is great. Very catchy very true.
I think its very unfortunate that Propagandhi are so critical of ska when obviously it spawned one of their most popular songs. Get a clue. I only know of one band that was only in it for the bucks and they shall never be spoken of.
and um....anybody know who Rudy is?
@BlackLungFever it's a reference to the song "a message to you rudy" by the specials, where the chorus repeats that like twice, and then propagandhi just added the little "fuck you rudy" thing to the end. rudy is also a term used as a shortened version of "rudeboy/rudegirl" which are the fans of ska
its a term to describe a ska fan, rude boys and rude girls, like the reggae boys in jamaca
I dont think theyre being very serious on this one....
@realitymark this might be satire.
'a message to you Rudi' is also a song by The Specials, a kick ass ska band, you should check that song out if you haven't allready, and the rest of the Specials' stuff for that matter! I like this song still, even though ska rocks, cos so does punk, and punk + ska = happy smiley people everywhere! Hmm. Maybe thats just me. Ciao ::S::
I take this song as a joke...another one of their songs, "Fuck Religion" could be considered ska. So I think they're just joking around...Ska rocks. =P
