Really?
Are you happy?
Can’t see
what you’re making?

Lost track
it all means nothing
Get back to where you’re coming from

Bite down and stand for something
I feel like I’m the only one

Somehow
We’re too far out
Hurt now
But you’ll find out
Now that you like it here

Really
Now you’re sorry?
Sadly
always empty to me

Waste all the breath you care to
You’re there and I’ll still be right here

Somehow
We’re too far out
Hurt now
But you’ll find out
Now that you like it

Somehow
We’re too far out
Hurt now
But you’ll find out
Now that you like it here

All the rules don’t mean they’re right
This is more than just a fair fight
Come closer, into the light
I want to see what you’ve got now
Where’s your bite?

(Solo)

Somehow
We’re too far out
Hurt now
But you’ll find out
Now that you like it

Somehow
We’re too far out
Hurt now
But you’ll find out
Now that you like it here

Wolfgang Van Halen says of this track; Contrary to the title, this lyrically has nothing to do with dad (Eddie Van Halen). It was the demo title because I harmonically tap the intro, and it just kind of stuck around. It’s a tongue-in-cheek, funny title for the song, so even after the lyrics were done I decided to keep it.

In my opinion, I think this song is about if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
