Be sparkly and shiny, they say.
Be perfect and smiley, they say.
That's the way to success, they say.
That is the way to be noticed, they say!

We poison ourselves, doing what we're told,
Constantly glittering, vomiting gold.
Decomposing and rotting by inhaling filth,
We continue to swallow caviar with guilt.

What is the true beauty? What is true gold?
How do we find the clarity in this fake, cold world?
A nation of liars, shapeshifters and frauds!
With false kings rotting on their golden thrones!

Thrones, Golden thrones, Thrones
False kings rotting on their golden thrones!
With false kings rotting on their thrones!

Unhappy and crippled but covered in gold,
We wear precious rocks but our hearts are cold.
While alien expressions garnish our fake faces
A polyphony of disorders loosen our laces.

Say, They say.

What is the true beauty? What is true gold?
How do we find the clarity in this fake, cold world?
A nation of liars, shapeshifters and frauds!
With false kings rotting on their golden thrones!

    My Interpretation

This is about the falseness of Hollywood & all it's plastic glamour, where nothing that shimmers is ever real and the jewels & glitter only serve to obscure the true sadness & emptiness that lies beneath.
