Music from my freak, from my dark hallway
Who can tell me if something is off tonight?
Smell, in a dark elevator
Who can tell me if something is off tonight?
She talked like American, walks like Egyptian
Maybe international ghost girl
She faces to the wall, and goes to the door
Curiosity killed my fat black cat, huh
Uh, uh, uh, let's go!
I just want to check it
Cause you block my way
Don't stop me, I want to know
Keep moving away!

Who's on the 10th floor
(Ghost girl)
I kinda want you
Know how more
Who's on the dance floor?
(Ghost girl)
I just want to let her know
Who's on the 10th floor
(Ghost girl)
I kinda want you
Know how more
Who's on the dance floor?
(Ghost girl)
I just want to let her know

Music from Jamaica from a dark stairway
Who can tell me if some think is off tonight?
I feel in love, in a dark elevator
Who can tell me if some think is off tonight?
She talking like American, she dances like Brazilian
Maybe international ghost girl
She faces to the wall, and goes to the door
Curiosity killed my fat black cat, huh

Who's on the 10th floor
(Ghost girl)
I kinda want you
Know how more
Who's on the dance floor?
(Ghost girl)
I just want to let her know
Who's on the 10th floor
(Ghost girl)
I kinda want you
Know how more
Who's on the dance floor?
(Ghost girl)
I just want to let her know

miho seems to write alot of songs with girls being the main character. im not sure of her sexual preferences but this song could mean she has a wild fantasy to experiment with a exotic woman. and why wouldnt she? part american, part egyptian, part brazilian would be one hot speciwoman

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
