The drink you spilled all over me
"Lover's Spit" left on repeat
My mom and dad let me stay home
It drives you crazy, getting old

We can talk it so good
We can make it so divine
We can talk it good
How you wish it would be all the time

The drink you spilled all over me
"Lover's Spit" left on repeat
My mom and dad let me stay home
It drives you crazy, getting old
The drink you spilled all over me
"Lover's Spit" left on repeat
My mom and dad let me stay home
It drives you crazy, getting old

This dream isn't feeling sweet
We're reeling through the midnight streets
And I've never felt more alone
It feels so scary, getting old

We can talk it so good
We can make it so divine
We can talk it good
How you wish it would be all the time

This dream isn't feeling sweet
We're reeling through the midnight streets
And I've never felt more alone
It feels so scary, getting old
This dream isn't feeling sweet
We're reeling through the midnight streets
And I've never felt more alone
It feels so scary, getting old

I want 'em back (I want 'em back)
The minds we had (the minds we had)
How all the thoughts (how all the thoughts)
Moved 'round our heads (moved 'round our heads)
I want 'em back (I want 'em back)
The minds we had (the minds we had)
It's not enough to feel the lack
I want 'em back, I want 'em back, I want 'em

You're the only friend I need (you're the only friend I need)
Sharing beds like little kids (sharing beds like little kids)
And laughing 'til our ribs get tough (laughing 'til our ribs get tough)
But that will never be enough (but that will never be enough)
You're the only friend I need (you're the only friend I need)
Sharing beds like little kids (sharing beds like little kids)
And laughing 'til our ribs get tough (laughing 'til our ribs get tough)
But that will never be enough (but that will never be enough)

But that will never be enough
But that will never be enough
But that will never be enough

    My Interpretation

Aside from the lovers part of this song, it reminds me a lot of my best friend and I. Recently we've grown apart, on account of many things, but one of them is that they have feelings for me that I do not reciprocate.

"I want 'em back (I want 'em back) The minds we had (the minds we had) It's not enough to feel the lack I want 'em back, I want 'em back, I want 'em"

This passage makes me think of how you want your old friend back, the old times and how you used to interact with each other.

"You're the only friend I need Sharing beds like little kids Laughing 'til our ribs get tough But that will never be enough"

Often I felt as if my friend was the only one I had, and the only one I needed, as I'd shared a lot, more than I have with anyone else, with this person. During summer when we'd have sleepovers we'd share a bed, like little kids. We would laugh at stupid things, our hearts filled. And yet, that will never be enough, for them. And therefore, friendship ends, and it hurts, and all you want is those days back.

She wants it back, the times they had, the thoughts they both thought. They're both getting older, and drifting apart.
