I'm pretty sure we almost broke up last night
I threw my phone across the room at you
I was expecting some dramatic turn away
But you stayed
This morning I said we should talk about it
'Cause I read you should never leave a fight unresolved
That's when you came in wearing a football helmet
And said, "Okay, let's talk"
And I said

Stay, stay, stay
I've been loving you for quite some time, time, time
You think that it's funny when I'm mad, mad, mad
But I think that it's best if we both stay

Before you, I'd only dated self indulgent takers
Who took all of their problems out on me
But you carry my groceries and now I'm always laughing
And I love you, because you have given me no choice but to

Stay, stay, stay
I've been loving you for quite some time, time, time
You think that it's funny when I'm mad, mad, mad
But I think that it's best if we both stay
Stay, stay, stay

You took the time to memorize me
My fears, my hopes and dreams
I just like hanging out with you
All the time
All those times that you didn't leave
It's been occurring to me
I'd like to hang out with you
For my whole life

Stay
And I'll be loving you for quite some time
No one else is gonna love me when I get mad, mad, mad
So I think that it's best if we both stay, stay, stay
Stay, stay, stay

Stay, stay, stay
I've been loving you for quite some time, time, time
You think that it's funny when I'm mad, mad, mad
But I think that it's best if we both stay
Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay

Stay, stay, stay
I've been loving you for quite some time, time, time
You think that it's funny when I'm mad, mad, mad
I think that it's best if we both stay

"That's so fun"

This song is about how much you love someone. Even though they can annoy you, you love them anyway cause you know you are in love :)

Whilst this song finds Taylor promising to "Stay Stay Stay" with her current boyfriend, she still takes the opportunity to throw a few disses at her exes. "Before you I only dated self-indulgent takers," she sings, " who took all of their problems out on me." The song ends with Swift collapsing into a fit of giggles. The Pennsylvania native told Rolling Stone how Red showcases the wide range of emotions she has experienced in recent years. "I went through a few roller coasters," she said. "Trying to chronicle each step of the way was challenging, because you go to some really dark places with the lyrics. Then in the next track, you're talking about how amazing it is to meet somebody new."

Swift told MTV News how she transforms her emotions into songs. "When I'm writing a song, I'm so in that zone that it's really sort of a trance I go into," she explained, "and I'm just kind of thinking about what I would say to this person that I'm writing the song about if I could just say whatever I wanted to them right now; that's kind of where I go in my head. And then the next thing is, I edit the song for a couple of days in my head and make sure that every line is as tight as I want it to be."

I think this is a really cute song, and I love love love Taylor, but does anyone else think there are red flags here? First of all, throwing something at somebody out of anger in a relationship is never okay. It's abuse.

Secondly, I don't think I'd want a guy who thinks it's funny when I'm mad. When I'm mad, it's because I've got something to say and he should be listening. (I'm not always right, but it's respectful to listen.)

Anyways, I bet she's exaggerating to show how sweet the guy is and how in love they are, which is why I love the song so much :)

A perfect example of when "let's stay friends" will work. When the romantic relationship is over, because there is only friendship.

I love this song. To me it's about being in a long term relationship and keeping the spark through in-jokes and quirk. where to people have been together so long it's just as much about being each others best friends as it is about sexual attraction. It's also one of the few "long hall" love songs I know that is peppy and fun to dance to.

    My Opinion

I love this song so much. it reminds me so much of me and my boyfriend.

I just love the way she talks about long term relationships in this, with the simplest of words, she describes just how perfectly wonderful and annoying it can be.

i especially love a couple bits: -"I was expecting some dramatic turn away But you stayed" I love how she gets this fit of rage, which i understand completely because i push people away a lot too, and just like it always is with me, she gets this horrible feeling where she finally thinks: its over, after all this time its over because of me, im so horrible, what is wrong with me?! and she expects it to be over, for him to leave, and for her to feel awful. but no, he stays. :) -"And said okay, let's talk And I said Stay, stay, stay" I love this, cause she thinks some horrible talk is gonna happen, and it's gonna be all serious and awkward and sad, but then like the wonderful person he is, he just makes her laugh. :) -"You took the time to memorize me, my fears, my hopes and dreams," He knows her completely, knows to make her laugh when she's sad or mad, thinks she's adorable when she's mad, knows just what to say to make everything okay, so he should just stay. :) -"Stay and I'll be loving you for quite some time No one else is gonna love me when I get mad, mad, mad So I think that it's best if we both stay, stay, stay Stay, stay, stay" You're perfect for me, i love you, and i think we really should just stay. :) -"I love you, because you have given me no choice but to Stay" i love you so much because i just cant imagine leaving you. when i try to push you away like i do with loads of others, you give me know choice but to stay. -"Before you, I'd only dated self indulgent takers who took all of their problem out on me But you carry my groceries and now I'm always laughing" this is my favorite, because its the truest to me and my bf, he's brightened up my life in such a way i cant even begin to thank him for. :)

Love this song and all the things in it that make me smile. :)

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
