Is everybody in?
This place is getting dry
When should we begin?
We're running out of time

Some things have to change
We've got to start our lives like everyone
Got to ease the pain
Going to stay up through the break of dawn
Some things have to change
Taking one last trip with everyone
Got to ease the pain
Going to stay up through the break of dawn

These lights on the skyline are hard to come by
These nights on the long drives make up for lost time

Some things have to change
We've got to start our lives like everyone
Got to ease the pain
Going to stay up through the break of dawn
Some things have to change
Taking one last trip with everyone
Got to ease the pain
Going to stay up through the break of dawn

These lights on the skyline are hard to come by
These nights on the wrong side
It's not goodbye
It's not goodbye
We've got to realize it's not goodbye
It's in the lights that you will find
Time seems to always pass us by
When you're back to your roots
You find the emptiness in you
And if the long drives keep you sane
You're my needle, I'm the same
So just fade and just fade out
I've got to know what you're about
And when the whiskey's dead, you're next
This is your demon and regrets
Feel the good just move in you
What am I supposed to choose?
Cause if the long drives keep you sane
You're my needle, I'm the same
It's time to go

    My Interpretation

Sounds like a bunch of no-longer-kids in a band that have decided to hang it up. But not before one more go around.

If this ends up being their last album, this is such a perfect song to end it, with references to all of their best songs thrown into the last verse.
