Sacrifice won’t suffice
Resurrection needs your death
To happen twice
Fall on my heart
And burn and forge
Your tortured black-smitten
Into the sharpest fucking sword
Don’t assume that I’m always with you
It’s just where my mortal body happens to be
Don’t assume that I’m always with you
It’s just where my mortal body happens to be
No sin eater to slay
Us children of Cain
Watching monkey suicide
Sunday aids and church wine wash it away
Christ consciousness
Manifest to the golden ratio
Five or five hundred million years ago
We were 15 foot high
And to die
Was a bardot bridge
We never thought we’d cross
To burn down behind and below
No sin eater to slay
Us children of Cain
Watching monkey suicide
Sunday aids and church wine wash it away
Don’t assume that I’m always with you
It’s just where my mortal body happens to be
Don’t assume that I’m always with you
It’s just where my mortal body happens to be
So take your little black book
I see the way that you look in to it
I’ll eat it and I’ll cut my tongue
And all the pages you spread
Sweet as honey you said
But I'm choking on your bitter stories
No sin eater to slay
Us children of Cain
Watching monkey suicide
Sunday aids and church wine wash it away
Sunday aids and church wine wash it away
Resurrection needs your death
To happen twice
Fall on my heart
And burn and forge
Your tortured black-smitten
Into the sharpest fucking sword
Don’t assume that I’m always with you
It’s just where my mortal body happens to be
Don’t assume that I’m always with you

resurrection needs your death
to happen twice ........................ (Talking about people's thought about Jesus coming again, but he responds to it saying that Jesus has to die one more time to come again)
don’t assume that I’m always with you
It’s just where my mortal body happens to be ....................... (I don't know why but through all the song I just feel MM is trying to talk like his actually Jesus, so in this part, he's referring to the body of Christ that is on earth as the bread, but saying he's not actually with us, is just his body what we could see or adore in the bread while he's not really anywhere)
No Sineater to slay
Us Children of Cain
Watching monkey suicide,
Sunday AIDS and church wine wash it away .................. (Us children of Cain, as us sons of the traitor (you know Cain and Abel), we don't have to kill the sin eaters maybe the hypocrites who eat the bread (Jesus body), cause they'll just will suicide as church wine (blood of Christ) and AIDS, both seeing as virus, will make everyone forget about it)
So take your little black book .......... (the bible)
I see the way that you look in to it ........... (being look admiration by a believer)
I’ll eat it and I’ll cut my tongue ........... (i'll read the book but i'll cut my tongue so i would not profess what religion says)
Maybe I am so fucking wrong but it make sense to me ....
resurrection needs your death
to happen twice (perhaps he speaks of how jesus is supposed to come again, twice)
fall on my heart
and burn and forge
your tortured black-smitten
into the sharpest, fucking sword (the dark destruction of him? make it a weapon)
don’t assume that I’m always with you
It’s just where my mortal body happens to be (I dont like being here any more than you do,no choice)
No Sineater to slay (no bad man to kill)
Us Children of Cain (people like me are the "bad men")
Watching monkey suicide, (monkey is a reference to stupid people)
Sunday AIDS and church wine wash it away (cal themselves christian and what ever they do wont matter)
So take your little black book (bible)
I see the way that you look in to it
I’ll eat it and I’ll cut my tongue
And all the pages you spread,
Sweet as honey you said (sounds good to you)
But I’m choking on your bitter stories (sounds bad to me)
i think the song as a whole is in reference to people are looked down on for not being religious, but to him religion is the bad in society. theres no bad people here (no sineater to say) we dont have a choice who we share this world with. and Cain is a reference to the murdering brother, who we "are all children of"
His reference to monkeys has always followed Charlie Manson's reference to monkeys in Mechanical Animals. Basically, the monkey represents the god in the TV, the celebrity, the star.
