You didn't see my valentine
I sent it via pantomime
While you were watchin someone else
I stared at you and cut myself

Its all ill do cuz i'm not free
A fugitive too dull too flee
I'm amorous but out of reach
A still life drawing of a peach

I'm a tulip in a cup
I stand no chance of growing up
I've made my peace i'm dead i'm done
I watched you live to have my fun

I root for you, i love you x2

I made it to a dinner date
My teardrops seasoned every plate
I tried to dance but lost my nerve
I cramped up in the learning curve

I'm a tulip in a cup
I stand no chance of growing up
I'm resigned to sail on through
In the wake of tales of you

I root for you, i love you x4

Song Meaning:It's clear she likes him. She didn't exactly tell him but she showed him. Which is what she means by "pantomime". But he was interested in someone else, and she knew but she still continued her affections. "A fugitive too dull too flee" She's going to sit back and watch him love someone else. "I've made my peace i'm dead i'm done, I watched you live to have my fun, I root for you, i love you" And so she tells herself because she loves him she will encourage his love for another which is what she means by "I root for you, I love you".

General Comment:Unrequited love seems the obvious answer, I guess.
I think she may have also been talking about actually getting somewhat romantically involved with the person in question, but fucking it up.
    Hits home pretty hard!
