  General Comment:I think its such a fun song. Its about celebrating yourself. Reckonising that you like attention and a bit of lime light. What girl doesn't like that! But marina has written it in a beautiful way where its fun with a deep edge to it.

  Memory:I remember the first time I heard this song, I could relate to it line-for-line.
  
  My friend and I always used to joke that she was the "Diva" and I was the "Prima Donna," the difference being that she, the Diva, didn't want to work for adoration, while I, the Prima Donna, had worked my whole life to be in the spotlight.
  
  I realize that Marina Diamandis wrote this song to be the opposite of her, but she really did a good job of describing the prima donna life and mentality- you work your whole life for the crown or the starring role, and you live for fame and adoration. While the Prima Donna may come off as indestructibly glamorous, however, most are sad and feel as though they have a void inside.
  
  To sum up my long-winded comment, I can relate to this song because I feel an all-consuming need for the spotlight. Being a Prima Donna isn't a bad thing- it's just a way of life.

  Song Meaning:it's supposed to be very ironic and tongue-in-cheek. As someone stated before, Marina wrote it to be the opposite of her. It's about a girl who doesn't want to work for anything. She wants it all handed and offered to her on a silver platter. She doesn't want love based on emotional connection. She just wants people to adore her and wait on her. She wants instant control over someone. She wants to be judged purely on her physical attributes. She wants it all and to give nothing back in return.

  General Comment:Apparantly she wrote this song because her ex-boyfriend always called her a primadonna.
  Love this song soooooooooo much I always keep repeating and if I'm not listening to it then I'll just start singing it quitetly to myself. Trolol sad.
  Can't wait till her new album comes out, I herd most of the songs on their and they sound amazing :D

  General Comment:It's basically Material Girl Cubed, but Marina takes that concept to another level with her deliberate and caustic satire of the "primadonna" archetype.

  My Interpretation:I think it's about a girl with big dreams, who keeps getting criticized and called selfish by her friends and the people around her, who think she's too much of a Prima Donna, but she really just wants to live a life of glamour that transcends her everyday normalcy. She also probably fills her days dreaming and every day she goes without her dreams coming true feel like a chore and are hard to get through
  but she's determined to work hard to get her dreams to come true.

  My Interpretation:Love this song!
  I think it's the thoughts of a woman who feels unhappy and that they think material things will make her feel better. She always wants to be adored.
