(You're so lost)
(You're so far)
You're so far but so close
You're so far but so close
I know you got dreams
You can't sleep
Just know that I'm with you
All through the night
I swear time slows down when I'm around you
Talk about your dreams and I'm telling you they're already true
In my eyes
(My eyes)
The way you look at life makes me go insane
Typa heart I admire so I put you in this song
(Song)
Now I heard there was someone new
I ain't blame you I ain't make a move
You know I want what's best for you
(Best)
You know I want what's meant for you
(Meant)
But to be honest I don't mind
(Don't mind)
Ima just stay on my grind
(Grind)
Building up my empire
Cause I know that they doubt on me
(Uhhh)
(Uhh)
You're so far but so close
You're so far but so close
I know you got dreams
You can't sleep
Just know that I'm with you
All through the night
Born to win
I was born to ball
Close my eyes
I can see it all
I'm not lying
Ima take this far
I don't need you cause it's your loss
I told you from the start
Ferraris and lambos when it comes to my time
Shoulda been us but it wasn't our time
Will you wait on me while I build this empire
For you
I was trying my best to get you through
You were acting like you ain't wanna move
Now we're strangers so brand new
And it's hard
We were like best friends girl you left a scar
Can't forget you man I can't forget your heart
Watch what ima do ima really touch the stars
I'm talking different mansions swerving lanes different cars
You're so far but so close
You're so far but so close
I know you got dreams
You can't sleep
Just know that I'm with you
All through the night
Born to win
I was born to ball
Close my eyes
I can see it all
(Allll)
I'm not lying
Ima take this far
(Take this far)
I don't need you cause it's your loss
I told you from the start
(I told you from the start)
I don't need you cause it's your loss
I told you from the start
(I told you from the start)
(I told you from the start)
(I told you from the start)

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
