Zig zag shadows on the floor
From the window to the door
Never felt like this before
Zig zag connecting me to you
After all that we've been through
If it was love I never knew

But oh how I needed you tonight
And no I ain't looking for your sympathy
I just can't take living like some refuge
Oh oh oh deliver me

Zig zag look upon my face
To another time another place
Another world in any case
Zig zag painting on the wall
Andy Worehall I recall
You and me and that was all

And oh how I needed you tonight
And no I ain't looking for your sympathy
I just can't take living like some refuge,
Oh oh oh deliver me

Oh oh oh deliver me
Oh oh oh deliver me
Oh oh oh deliver me
Oh oh oh deliver me

Zig zag patterns of our days
Like a straight line through a maze
Love it comes but never stays
Zig zag deliver me to you
After all that we've been through
I didn't know how much I knew

And oh how I needed you tonight
And no I ain't looking for your sympathy
I just can't take living like some refuge,
Oh oh oh deliver me

Oh oh oh deliver me
Oh oh oh deliver me
Oh oh oh deliver me
Oh oh oh deliver me

I just can't take living like some refuge,
Oh oh oh deliver me, deliver me

    My Interpretation

Deliver Me is a Country/Rock Hooter concerto about a relationship that is being pushed and tested to the breaking point. By the time Zig Zag came out, religion and dancing were out and the ins and outs of love was in. With Deliver Me, the Hooters got back to basics. Satellite and And We Danced it ain't! Rob and Eric renewed their friendship with this song. The Hooters' days as darlings of MTV were over. With Deliver Me, the Hooters became an immortal Classic Rock jam band, paving the way for the likes of the Black Crowes, Blues Traveler and the Tragically Hip among other fellow traveler bands. The Hooters' rocker Deliver Me-AOR done with class and brilliance.
