Both of us hanging on, to driftwood passing.
The sun has been now gone, the waters bloody freezing.
What were we thinking?
Why did we ever jump?

Gone, like the winter.
Gone, like my lover.
Gone is the aching.
Gone forever.

Car lights keep passing, we're down in a deep ravine.
You have never been so dear to me, I have never felt this clean.
What were we thinking?
What did we ever jump?

Gone, like the winter.
Gone, like my lover.
Gone is the aching.
Gone, like the flowers.

My heart give up the fight.
Down, down, down.
Please don't take her,
My brittle winter.

I'm gone like the lovers.
Gone, like the liars.
Gone is my aching
Gone is my love.
Gone.

    My Interpretation

The couple are drifting apart. She's questioning why did they ever give the relationship a go? She still really likes him, but she's hurt.
