The whole point is about the fact his fiesta doesn't goes like he planned it in the first place cause shorty is playing games. She feels for him and yet she acts like she doesn't when her girls ask her whether she have a crush on him or not.
For the record Leslie Gore's boyfriend walked away from her and put her on blast during her birthday party which is why she actually went nuts.....
is there a deeper meaning to this lyric because I don't quite get how it fits in with the rest
I like the last part of the second verse... i think it's going back to her previous relationship and talking about how her friends all encouraged her believing she was "following [her] heart" but they were looking at the relationship the wrong way and should have been honest and told her "something to to save [her]"

"Don't tell me, I don't care, if you're hurt, I won't, tell you, you don't care, if you're true." In the end, he wants her to be honnest and so does she. And they will find their way :)
