  General Comment:are you sure the 'little girl' isn't just a manifestation of the demon in our world? the demon using a loophole to do what it does best, terrorizing and killing it's victims. killing pedophiles won't draw too much attention or animosity from either it's realm or ours.
  
  as for how this works into the song... maybe the pleasant sounding notes are the pedophile while the more erratic harder ones are of the demon.

  General Comment:Just to add my two-bits, so there's somewhat some theory of the song and its meaning; its kinda just another great Skrillex song to be blunt. But if you watch the music video, THEN the song REALLY shines.
  
  Pertaining to the music video for the song; its about a pedophile sitting in a park, eyeballing a young girl. He follows her down an alleyway and into an underground parking garage(or something of the sort). The little girl turns around as he approaches her. After dialing a number into the phone she screams "Call 911 now!", and then she starts torturing the pedophile telekinetically. At which point, the tables are turned and now the predator becomes the prey. The "pedophile" grabs the phone and yells "Call 911 now!". After which, the girl summons a demon and telekinetically tortures the pedophile some more. Presumed dead, the little girl adds another tally to a large group of tallys on her wall, giving away a clue to the now-obvious title for the song.
  
  As the title says "The First of the Year", it is suggestive that this took place in the early months of the year, and a pedophile is trying to commit the sin that makes him what he is for the FIRST TIME THIS YEAR. The little girl was going to be his "First of the Year". When she kills him, she chalks up one more dead pedophile for the year. Make sense? Badass artist. Badass video. Badass song.

    Cool explanation, but the real one is much more simple. He dropped this song in demo form in the early days of January 2011. It was his first song produced last year. Equinox refers to the song in which the source vocals come from, back in his days as a solo artist, Sonny. All those pigmy squeals are lines from the song. The early demo even uses a few lines from that song, albeit pitched up.

    i agree with 99,99% of what you said.
    I guess all the torture and suffering the girl induced on the man could actually be a metaphor to all the remorse he felt after raping her: the "pedophile life" he takes brings him nightmares and hallucinations about his victims.
