Forty days and counting
I'm going to sleep when
I wake up there will be
Thirty nine more days left

When I fall asleep I feel you with me
When I fall asleep I feel you with me
When I fall asleep I feel you with me
Until I fall asleep and you are with me

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Thirty days and counting
I'm going to sleep when
I wake up there will be
Twenty nine more days left

When I fall asleep I feel you with me
When I fall asleep I feel you with me
When I fall asleep I feel you with me
Until I fall asleep and you are with me

When I fall asleep I feel you with me
When I fall asleep I feel you with me
When I fall asleep I feel you with me
Until I fall asleep and you are with me

Ooh, ooh, ooh, oh.

General Comment:When I listened to this song I got the idea that she was talking about her fiancee, Beau and how she counts down the days until she sees him again. I think it would make sense, seeing as they're both music artists and on the road quite a bit. I get the feeling of longing and loneliness in this song.

I think it's about missing the other person and thinking about them before you fall asleep.

When I fall asleep I feel you with me
When I fall asleep I feel you with me
'til I fall asleep and you are with me

General Comment:As kelliexo mentioned the meaning is pretty obvious. Great song.
Check out what I guess is 'Beau's side': youtube.com/… It's called 40 Days. You'll notice a few of the same lyrics.

General Comment:For me, this song is a beautiful and painful representation of the mental state you enter when there's distance separating you and your significant other. In a long distance relationship, it feels like you're counting down life. The only thing that matters is how many days there are left until you can see your love again.

So I think this is a reference to how Lights and Beau can't see each other when they're on tour.
