I looked into the hourglass
And watched the grains of sand
I wandered through the latitudes
And crossed the strangest lands

L Laughing
L Loving
Reach the promised land
F Fighting
L Losing
Lost beneath the sand
Journeys into places
No man has ever been
Conquering the continents
No man has ever seen

Where time amounts in misery
Where treasure's buried deep
Where no man enters to disturb
The king's eternal sleep

L Laughing
L Loving
Reach the promised land
F Fighting
L Losing
Lost beneath the sand
Journeys into places
No man has ever been
Conquering the continents
No man has ever seen

I'm lost in a forgotten world
Where ancient heroes fell
The Sphinxes guard, their solitude
Their bodies rot in hell

L Laughing
L Loving
Reach the promised land
F Fighting
L Losing
Lost beneath the sand
Journeys into places
No man has ever been
Conquering the continents
No man has ever seen

I can't believe I found these lyrics here. I love this website. Haven't heard this one since around 1979...They were sort of Art/Punk as I recall. Always loved the lyrics. Buried in the deserts of alienation. Isolated and blanketed by the sandstorms of delusion. A rock'n'Roll version of "Ozymandias" by Shelley (?)

Journeys into places No man has ever been Conquering the continents No man has ever seen

Where time amounts in misery Where treasure's buried deep Where no man enters to disturb The king's eternal sleep...

I'm lost in a forgotten world Where ancient heroes fell The Sphinxes guard, their solitude Their bodies rot in hell

Thank you Song Meanings! These lyrics mean a lot to me. Sincerely, ŊʘmĄď MʘŊąĐ
