Throw me in the landfill
Don't think about the consequences
Throw me in the dirt pit
Don't think about the choices that you make
Throw me in the water
Don't think about the splash I will create
Leave me at the altar
Knowing all the things you just escaped

Push me out to sea
On a little boat that you made
Out of the evergreen
That you helped your father cut away
Leave me on the tracks
To wait until the morning train arrives
Don't you dare look back
Walk away, catch up with the sunrise

This is torturous
Electricity between both of us
And this is dangerous
'cause I want you so much
But I hate your guts
I hate you

So leave me in the cold
Wait until the snow covers me up
So I cannot move
So I'm just embedded in the frost
Then leave me in the rain
Wait until my clothes cling to my frame
Wipe away your tear stains
Thought you said you didn't feel pain

Well this is torturous
Electricity between both of us
And this is dangerous
'cause I want you so much
But I hate your guts
I want you so much
But I hate your guts

Well this is torturous
Electricity between both of us
And this is dangerous
'cause I want you so much
But I hate your guts
I want you so much
But I hate your guts

General Comment:Taking a different approach here..

The girl is in love with this boy, and he is in love with the girl also. But the girl is depressed and suicidal and she can't help it, she's tried getting help before and nothing worked and noone was ever there for her. She finally had this one guy in her life she could tell everything to. But her bad thoughts and depression started slowly getting worse and the boy couldn't deal with them anymore. He didn't know how he could help her anymore, so he tells her that they should just be friends until she gets to a better place emotionally and then they can be together. The boy won't talk to her as much after that, he won't take her hand, he won't hug her. That was the only thing getting the girl through beforehand. The girl feels abandoned. She may as well be "Thrown in the water" "Pushed out to sea" "left on the tracks"

    “And this is torturous”
The girl is really struggling. She has a reason to get happy, which is to be with him, but she doesn’t have him by her side helping her to get there, so she’s stuck.

    “Electricity between both of us”
    They both still love eachother.

    “And this is dangerous”
Without him there for her, she won’t get the help she needs. Her suicidal thoughts would grow stronger and she would be at a greater risk of killing herself.

“Cos I want you so much”
She wants him so much. She wants to be happy with him. So she wants so much to get help for herself so she is able to be with him when she’s better.

    “But I hate your guts”
Problem is, without him she can’t get better. She hates him for doing this. She feels alone and scared, worried now that because of him not being there she will finally kill herself.

General Comment:The "leave me at the altar" part indicates it's near the end of a relationship, but I can still relate to the rest of the song even though I'm single.

I feel as if this song describes exactly how I feel about this guy that I just met who seemed really interested at first but is now getting kind of distant.

Perhaps it's a little too dramatic for me to be relating my non-relationship with this song but the sadness and disappointment is so palpable in these lyrics.

My Opinion:to me when shes telling him leave me there, toss me aside.
it progresses to her saying it sarcastic.like oh yeah you used me, you got everything you wanted for me.so why dont you just throw me away, c'mon do it tough man walk away.wipe your hands clean.
i dont think he treated horribly well i mean i think he treated her like nothing.like she was nothing, he was indifferent to her.
everyone has been in that position were you still want that person so badly, your body aches for their touch but you hate them, you hate what theyve done to you for what youve became because of them.

General Comment:This song draws such a beautiful parallel...
In my opinion this song is about being used and then tossed aside like garbage. The imagery the lyrics paint is stunning, the wayside garbage that she feels like after being used and then just left wondering how she let it happen... And yet she still loves him. Because for her it was real. He lied and deceived, used her for his own purposes and then moved on but she can't. She's stuck, like that garbage in the landfill, stagnate and waiting ...
In her own way she's fighting back. Telling him to wipe his eyes and walk away... but as he walks away she can't help but relive it all. Their electricity, their connection... and it's torture because she knows now that it wasn't real.
And yet she knows that it's so dangerous because a part of her still yearns for him. This small, still part of her, the one that clings to what she thought they had is still begging him to turn around and come back for her... even though the rest of her hates him.

General Comment:I love this song. It's so beautiful and simple and sad. The lyrics are just gorgeous.

I think this song is about the end of a relationship. I think it's like when you've been a relationship for a long time, you've passed that honeymoon stage and things are just not working out, through no fault of your own, or his. You love each other, you love him so much but at the same time, you blame him, for not trying harder, for not making it work. You know it's better if he goes. They are probably arguing a lot, they know each other really well, they know how to push each others buttons, things are getting messy and they just can't get passed this stage

'Leave me at the altar, Knowing all the things you just escaped'

Maybe he'll be better off without you. Maybe he didn't even want to be with you in the first place, not in the same way you did and you have given your all, everything, there is nothing left and you feel like he could have tried harder, he could have given more because now you are empty. There is nothing left.

'Throw me in the landfill, Don't think about the consequences'

It was probably his decision, 'Don't think about the choices that you make' but he still loves her too and he is sad about the end, he just thinks this is the right decision now even though it's painful.

    'Leave me on the tracks
To wait until the morning train arrives
    Don't you dare look back
Walk away, catch up with the sunrise'

she has accepted that this relationship has come to a close. That doesn't stop her loving him with all her heart, and she probably thinks if this was different, or that then maybe it would have worked. It doesn't stop her being angry that he's leaving her, that it didn't work out, and the relationship is done. Relationships are hard.

    'And this is dangerous
'cause I want you so much
    But I hate your guts
    I want you so much
    But I hate your guts'

They both know this is the right decision, that doesn't make it any easier, or any less painful.

My Interpretation:For me this song is about loving someone, but being treated like crap by that person. She's basically telling that person that no matter how badly he/she treats her, she'll still want him/her and she hates that. Everyone can relate to this I think... the torture of loving someone that's not good for you, but you just can't help but want that person. It leaves a person helpless and I think this song captures that emotion beautifully.

My Opinion:Can't believe no one has commented on this yet! It's such a beautiful song. Elena's voice, the music, the lyrics. Just brilliant!
I love the part where she sings
    And this is dangerous
Cause I want you so much
    But I hate your guts
    I hate you
I guess everyone has been at that point in some time of their lives. Wanting to be with someone so bad, but not really liking that person's personality. So you start hating him/her for it cause you care a lot for that person eventhough you know the person doesn't deserve it.
