Oh
Oh

Just shoot for the stars if it feels right
And aim for my heart if you feel like it
Take me away and make it okay
I swear I'll behave

You wanted control so we waited
I put on a show now we're naked
You say I'm a kid, my ego is big
I don't give a shit
And it goes like this

Take me by the tongue and I'll know you
Uh, kiss me 'til you're drunk and I'll show you
All the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger

Uh, I don't need to try to control you
Uh, look into my eyes and I'll own you
With them moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger

Baby it's hard when you feel like
You're broken and scarred
Nothing feels right, but when you're with me
I make you believe that I've got the key

Oh, so get in the car we can ride it
Wherever you want get inside it
And you want to steer, but I'm shifting gear
I'll take it from here
Oh yeah yeah, and it goes like this

Take me by the tongue and I'll know you
Uh, kiss me 'til you're drunk and I'll show you
All the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger (ooh)

Uh, I don't need to try to control you (oh yeah)
Uh, look into my eyes and I'll own you
With them moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger (yeah)
I've got the moves like Jagger (yeah, yeah)

Uh, you want to know how to make me smile
Take control, own me just for the night
But if I share my secret
You're gonna have to keep it
Nobody else can see this, ah

So watch and learn
I won't show you twice
Head to toe, ooh baby, rub me right, yeah
But if I share my secret
You're gonna have to keep it
Nobody else can see this, eh, yeah yeah yeah

And it goes like this
Uh, kiss me 'til you're drunk and I'll show you (take me by the tongue)
Kiss me 'til you're drunk and I'll show you (eh, yeah)
All the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger (ah, yeah)

Uh, I don't need to try to control you (yeah, ooh)
Uh, look into my eyes and I'll own you (oh-oh)
With them moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger

    Song Meaning

Moves like Jagger is about cougerville. If you've ever seen Jagger dance - he can't dance. And he's not good looking. But he can get a woman a fraction of his age - because he has the moves - google his love conquests. This song is reverse though, it's not a younger woman conquest but an older woman.

"I swear I will behave" -- a child says to an adult "You say I'm a kid, my ego is big" -- hello? "And you want to steer / But I'm shifting gears" -- power struggle "So watch and learn, I won't show you twice/../But if I share my secret/You gonna have to keep it/Nobody else can see this" -- older women think of younger boys but few will make it public

And finally the way you conquer a woman is not by controlling but by looking in her eyes with a total look of confidence.

My guess, Adam L (or someone in the band) is experienced in what it means to seduce an older woman.

Well, there was that rumour about Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull and a Mars bar. Perhaps these are the moves to which he is referring. :P

Where's the whistle in the beginning from? It's a song from the Rolling Stones, but what's its name?

PS: Sorry I didn't write in English ... cause I'm still not know the language so well.

    My Interpretation

This song is all about a man trying to seduce an older woman

And take me away and make it OK I swear I'll behave

and moves like Jagger is -as I see it- mostly relevant to the way he moves his tongue i.e Oral Sex

Take me by the tongue And I'll know you (Uh) Kiss me 'til you're drunk And I'll show you

and when she agrees she promise him a night he wont forget as long as he is gonna keep he wild love secrets

You want to know how to make me smile Take control, own me just for the night But if I share my secret You're gonna have to keep it Nobody else can see this

So watch and learn I won't show you twice Head to toe, oh baby, rub me right But if I share my secret You're gonna have to keep it Nobody else can see this (This! This! This! Ooohyeaha!)

    And it goes like this

This song has absolutely nothing to do with dance moves. That's just the video. The song is about a relationship between a woman and a man and the ability of the man to be completely competent and in control in the romance. Aguilera's part is about succumbing to that masculine dominance. Jagger is one of the great living Casanovas and that's what the song is about. "You want to want to steer, but I'm shifting gears, I'll take it from here" and "I don't need to control you, just look into my eyes and I'll own you" refer to the dynamic between the woman and the man, and his confidence he can take her where she wants to go. Consider that during the me too movement not one of the thousand women Jagger has slept with had anything bad to say about him. That's moves like Jagger.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
