This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart

Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I think it's pretty obvious there's a play on words going on here. The guy met some girl at a club and they had amazing, mind blowing sex that alters the guy's the universe. He may have only just met the girl, but she is so incredible and the sex is so mind blowing that he's "glad she came", in more ways than just one...
Glad You Came is about a person being glad that a certain person came and that they had a really good time together. Time is slipping away and they want to spend some more time together.

@SongMeaningsUK the verse that begins with "Turn the lights out now" is pretty much describing a sexual encounter. The other verses are more open to simply being about meeting a loved one, but that verse in particular seems to suggest that the undertone for the use of the word "came" is sexual.

After I heard the song I looked up the video and thought what a crock of crap. In the video they made it all innocent like some of you guys want to think but it is VERY clear that it is about SEX!

"Glad You Came" has much more emotionally-healthy lyrics than "We Are Young" by FUN (which slips in a tale about crazy abuse). A happy song. Upbeat. Definitely an international musical appeal in this song by The Wanted!
This is a really well-rounded song (lyrics; vocals; instrumentals....I can never think of a better word than the latter, and that word sux, unfortunately). Anyway, it's NOT about sex. Well, it could be, but I hope it isn't. I hope it's more special than a physical act. Overall (musically) it reminds me of FTP's song about the gun and Goyte's hit. It has that special quality....catchy, danceable (is that even a word and did I spell it correctly?) yet thought-provoking. She shines a light that he wishes to capture....by spending some time with her. It's quite beautiful. Darn, I talk too much...

I don't agree with some of the interpretations. I don't think it's about sex. It's not that raunchy and superficial. It's about being happy to have someone in ones life. I love this song. When I am with a man I am dating and see him smile, this song comes into mind (also probably due to all the air play it's been getting). Some people just have incredible smiles and sexy voices...their company lights up the room. The universe will "never be the same" once you meet someone special...

Personally, I don't think this song is about sex. The way I see it, it's about a boy (the singer) invited a girl to come somewhere with him and he is really happy that she decided to come because he got to know her better / that one day made him start falling for her. He wants to show her a good time and make her not regret coming. He or she might have to leave in the morning so their time is running short and he just wants to make the best of this night while they still have it before time forces them to separate, because it might be a long time before they see each other again.

This goes without saying really, "came" is being used in the sexual sense. Basically this song is about a guy who has picked a random girl up at a nightclub and he believes (dubiously so) that he is going to satisfy this girl sexually and so she will be "glad she came"
