Cut the music up
Lil' louder (Yea)

You had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love

You had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in the corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love

For a second you were here
Now you over there
Its hard not to stare the way you moving your body
Like you never had a love
Never had a love

When you was just a young'un you're looks but so precious
But now your grown up
So fly its like a blessing but
You can't have a man look at you for 5 seconds
Without you being insecure
You never credit yourself so when you got older
It's seems like you came back 10 times over
Now you're sitting here in this damn corner
Looking through all your thoughts and looking over your shoulder

See you had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love

See you had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in the corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love

For a second you were here
Now you over there
Its hard not to stare the way you moving your body
Like you never had a love
Had a love

You had a lot of dreams that transform to visions
The fact that you saw the world affected all your decisions
But it wasn't your fault
Wasn't in your intentions

You the one here talking to me
You don't wanna listen
But I admire your poppin bottles and dippin'
Just as much as you admire bartending and stripping baby
So don't be mad
Nobody else trippin
You see a lot of crooks and the crooks still crook

See You had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love

See you had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in the corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love

Oooh
See I just want you to know
That you deserve the best
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
Yeah

And I want you to know you're far from the usual
Far from the usual

You see you had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love

See you had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in the corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love

See you had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck couldn't never figure out
How to love
How to love

See you had a lot of moments that didn't last forever
Now you in the corner tryna put it together
How to love
How to love

My Interpretation:This song is dedicated to a girl who is a stripper/prostitute and is often judged by people not knowing she had an awful life and is doing what she's doing because she has to.
She was sexually and mentally abused in her childhood and nobody was there for her to teach her the right values in life and how to love. She grows up in a beautiful woman with a lack of respect and lets people underestimate her. But nobody was there to tell her that she needs to credit her self more and that she deserves more,so Lil Wayne does that in this song.
    Beautiful,gave me goosebumps.

General Comment:The first time I heard this song, I was riding in the back of a van with 7 other girls, coming back to the treatment center after a day out. I was being treated for an eating disorder, self-harm, depression, along with other issues. Just before I was committed, I had made some stupid decisions and left home. I could have fallen into prostitution, and one incident could have headed me a full time job, but I ended up coming back home and went to treatment. Before that, I had gotten the wrong kind of attention from guys, which I believe, like Samferon mentions, is what this song is talking about. I had never had a father figure in my life, since my father committed suicide when I was six weeks old. I never knew him, so it didn't affect me directly, but seeing how it has torn my mom up over the years, it definitely had effect on me, in different ways.

Listening to this song, it reminds me of myself. It reminds me of a lot of other people in the same boat, or the ones in that van the day I first heard this song.

My Interpretation:To me, this song speaks for a girl who was born into a broken family. With no father present, she developed insecurities because of the emptiness she felt was never filled due to the lack of a father, thus searching for love and acceptance in the wrong places. When he says "Now you're in this corner, trying to put it together - how to love." It's basically the dark story of a stripper who took the wrong route, due to the lack of love and guidance as a child. Therefore, not loving herself or having respect for herself. In the video it's alittle different, but in general explains the same basic story. At the end it shows her mother falling in love and marrying again, as the little girl watches them kiss. The little girl grows up with a stable home, witnessing the proper way to love from her mother and new found husband, therefore loving herself. It then shows the confidence manifest in her school work, and her falling in love with a good boy. She goes through life much differently rather than being raised in an unstable environment.

My Opinion:I'm not really huge with Rap, or with Lil Wayne (There a few songs of him that I thought were catchy) but when I first heard this song I nearly cried about how deep and beautiful the lyrics are. Listening to this song really hits me home on how I grew up, and it only reminds me how far I've come in life.

Beautiful, beautiful song by him, it is one of my all time fave songs :) <3

General Comment:I agree with askme1106, But I think the video set off a total different message. The video message, (I) Think, Is that you should do the best in life and don't choose the wrong roads because their will be consequences, (ex. -Woman being HIV positive after sleeping with guys for money and stripping, It showed if she would have just went home to her mom and her life was 100% different)

Song Meaning:Wayne hits it home with this song. Writing about a girl that he sees has been hurt and has never really figured out how to love and he wants to show her how to love and that she is worth his love.

I'm not a fan of rap, but this last album of Wayne's was really deep and personal for the most part.

General Comment:I love this song.. really hits home for me.. I've always wanted love so bad I've just taken what had been available.. I've never learned how to truly love someone... I let a guy beat me for three years because I thought we loved each other.. so yeah.. he was a crook.. I love the part where he says he admires you poppin bottles and dippin as much as you enjoy bartendin and stripping.. hits home... girls usually doing these profession have alot more history than you would ever know
