The princess in her flowerbed,
Pulled the jungle underground,
Where cherry bombs stain the blackbirds red,
And explosions never make a sound.
Oh comet come down
Kamikaze over me,
And come alive
My midnight melody
Oh comet come down

My captain on the snowy horse,
He's coming back to take me home,
(He's coming back to take me home!)
He'll find me fighting back the terrible force,
'Cause I'm not afraid to die alone.
Oh comet come down!
Kamikaze over me,

And come alive!
My midnight melody!
Oh comet come down!
Kamikaze over me,
And come alive!
My midnight melody!
Oh comet come down!
Oh comet come down!

(Break down the open doors)
Maybe I'll write,
(And fight back the undertones)
To save my life,
(Break in, the ember glows)
Maybe I'll fly,
(And go where you want to go)
With the eagle eye!

(Break down the open doors)
Maybe I'll write,
(And fight back the undertones)
To save my life,
(Break in, the ember glows)
Maybe I'll fly,
(And go where you want to go)
With the eagle eye!
(Eagle eye)

Song Meaning:I believe the song is about WWII, which might sound strange, but hear me out.
Kamikaze is a Japanese word, related to war.
Eagles are a common American symbol, the Eagle Eye may refer to America's attempt to watch over the world by trying to defend it from Japan.
    "The princess in her flowerbed,
    Pulled the jungle underground,
Where cherry bombs stain the blackbirds red"
This may be talking about Japan (a princess) taking over the tropical islands in the Pacific, killing off the natives in an attempt to gain land.
The singer is a soldier fighting on the Eastern front of the war.
    "Oh comet come down
    Kamikaze over me,
    And come alive
    My midnight melody"
This may refer to the soldier's eagerness for battle, wishing for the Kamikaze pilots to fly over the American camps, for the bombs (trailing a 'comet' of light) to attack the American camp, thus instigating battle. The Japanese often attacked at night, so the sound of bombs would be the soldier's midnight melody.
"My captain on the snowy horse,
He's coming back to take me home,
He'll find me fighting back the terrible force,
'Cause I'm not afraid to die alone."
The captain part is obviously a superior, offering him a chance to go back home. This soldier refuses out of a desire to continue fighting.

General Comment:the first part is talking about the garden of eden which is where the devil/ sin came into the world.

then i saw the heavens opened and behold, a white horse! the one sitting on it is called faithful and true and in ritiousness he judges and makes war. his eyes are like a flame of fire and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. he is clothed in a robe sprinkled in blood, and the name by which he is called is the word of god. and the armies of heaven, arrayed in white linen, fine and pure, were following him on white horses. from his mouth came a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. he will tread the winepress of the fury of god the almighty. on his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, king of king and lord of lords.
    revelation 19:11-16
this is when the battle at armageddon starts and is just before the devil is thrown into the lake of sulfur forever. after this is judgement day and then living happily ever after
therefore the song focuses on the basic beginning and end of the humans time as mortal sinners. why i don't know.

General Comment:I think this song to be me is about martyrdom.

About him being strong in Christ in that midnight hour.
Like how by the power of God in and on Him through the Holy Spirit ( Kamikaze -Divine Wind) he'll be saved ; when the fight of faith.

    You can read
    Revelations 12:7-11
Revelations 12:11 and 1 John 5:4 talks about how the believer overcomes.

though I can't explain how by writing ( in the lyrics he says-"Maybe I'll write") he'll save his life.

If you've ever noticed he has talked respectfully and honors both
Rachel Joy Scott (Columbine school shooting) and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, both of whom were Christian martyrs.
I think he's mentioned and/or talked about them on more than one occasion.

I could be wrong on this but would not be surprised if this was what the song was about or part of what the song was about.

General Comment:The princess in her flower bed—Adam and Eve in Garden of Eden

Pulled the jungle underground—The sin of Adam and Eve caused us to die and go underground (Hades)

Where cherry bombs stained the blackbirds red—We were stained red, like crimson because of sin. “Cherry bombs” mean “sin”, “blackbirds” represent “man after our fall”, and “red” means “blood, guilt”.

And explosions never make a sound—Death underground in Hades. Men sleep and await revival and remission of sins

Oh comet, come down—“Comet” refers to Jesus. It’s like saying, “Oh, Jesus, our Savior, come down and rescue us from death!”

Kamikaze over me—God Wind, Divine Wind over me, reviving me

And I come alive—I am redeemed from all my sins and I come alive! Christ awakens me from death!

My midnight melody—“Midnight” means “Death”. “Melody” could mean “spiritual groaning”

Oh comet, come down-- “Comet” refers to Jesus. It’s like saying, “Oh, Jesus, our Savior, come down and rescue us from death!”

My captain on a snowy horse—Jesus means Captain. Snowy Horse refers to Revelation 19:11-21

Is coming back to take me home—The Rapture

He's coming back to take me home—He (meaning Jesus) is coming back down from Heaven to take him home to Heaven

I'm finally fighting back a terrible force—He’s fighting back sin and temptation, the force of darkness
    and death

'Cause I'm not afraid to die alone—Dying to himself, dying to his flesh

    Oh comet, come down--
    Kamikaze over me
    And I come alive
    My midnight melody

    Oh comet, come down
    Kamikaze over me
    And I come alive
    My midnight melody
    Oh comet, come down

    Oh comet, come
    Oh comet, come down

Break down the open road—Road of Life

    Maybe I'll ride—“Riding through Life”

And fight back the overthrow—Fighting temptation, sin from the Enemy

To save my life—to save his soul

Bring in the amber glow—“Amber Glow” referring to Revelation 4:2-6 --I was caught up at once in deep worship and, oh!—a Throne set in Heaven with One Seated on the Throne, suffused in GEM HUES of AMBER and flame with a nimbus of emerald. Twenty-four thrones circled the Throne, with Twenty-four Elders seated, white-robed, gold-crowned. Lightning flash and thunder crash pulsed from the Throne. Seven fire-blazing torches fronted the Throne (these are the Sevenfold Spirit of God). Before the Throne it was like a clear crystal sea.

Maybe I'll fly—Flying in Freedom, in Heaven

And go where you wanna go—Going where Jesus leads him

With your eagle eye—Eagles have brilliant eyesight(baldeagleinfo.com/eagle/…) and The Bible always talks about how God has His Eyes constantly on Man always interested and always watching. Also—Revelation 4-7 “The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a FLYING EAGLE.”

My Interpretation:Is it sad this song made me think of Doctor Who?? I was seriously convinced that was what the song was about, quite possibly because there are religious metaphors in Doctor Who. For example, the captain, or the Doctor, riding in on his "horse" (TARDIS) to save the day. It doesn't help that A) the entire CD's about galaxies and stars and the universe, and B) there's a TARDIS sound effect in the song XD. Guess that's just me though.

General Comment:I totally agree with Kjersti454 's translation. I know that Adam has said that this an extremely spiritual song for him. I have been trying to decode it for a while and this pretty much matched what I came up with. I know he is right. Their is a war going on. I can't see it. No one can. It is a war for souls. Satan doesn't want people to go to heaven and he is doing everything he can to deceive people and keep them out of heaven. This war has a point. God is fighting for our souls. He loves us and wants to spend eternity with us because we are His people. In the end I know that God will triumph. For now all we can do is fight for HIm.

Lyric Correction:I just watched the lyric video, and it's actually "breathe in the ember glow". Whatever that means...

General Comment:Here's how I see this song:

    "princess" - Eve
"flowerbed" - the Garden of Eden
"Pulled the jungle underground" - The fall of man and loss of access to the Garden
"Where cherry bombs stain the blackbirds red" - sin in the world staining humanity
"And explosions never make a sound" - Our sins are often silent, and we don't even realize the impact of what we are doing

Those are just my thoughts for the first couple of lines.

Another thing I would like to point out is that kamikaze, though generally associated with the suicide air attacks of the Japanese during WWII, is actually translated as "divine wind". Perhaps this could be implicative of the Holy Spirit?
