Love is just a history that they may prove
And when you're gone I'll tell them my religion's you
When Pontius come to kill the king upon his throne
I'm ready for their stones

I'll dance, dance, dance
With my hands, hands, hands,
Above my head, head, head
Like Jesus, said
I'm gonna dance, dance, dance
With my hands, hands,
Hands above my head
Dance together
Forgive him before he's dead because

I won't cry for you
I won't crucify the things you do
I won't cry for you, see
When you're gone I'll still be bloody Mary

We are not just art for Michelangelo
To carve, he can't rewrite the aggro of my furied,
Heart, I'll wait on mountain tops in Paris cold
Je ne veux pas mourir toute seule

I'll dance, dance, dance
With my hands, hands, hands,
Above my head, head, head
Like Jesus, said
I'm gonna dance, dance, dance
With my hands, hands,
Hands above my head
Dance together
Forgive him before he's dead because

I won't cry for you
I won't crucify the things you do
I won't cry for you, see
When you're gone I'll still be bloody Mary

Gaga, Gaga, Gaga, Gaga, Gaga, Gaga, Gaga, Gaga
Dum dum da da da
Dum dum da da da da da da
Dum dum da da da
Dum dum da da da
Dum dum da da da da da da
Dum dum da da da

I won't cry for you
I won't crucify the things you do do do
I won't cry for you (Gaga), see (Gaga)
When you're gone I'll still be Bloody (Gaga) Mary (Gaga)

[Repeat: x8]
Oh oh oh oh oh (Gaga)

Oh, liberdad mi amor

My Interpretation:The first time I heard the title of this and the first time I listened to it my immediate reaction was to think of the legend of Bloody Mary (sorry if I'm about to creep people out haha), the demon-thingy-person that apparently kills you if you say her name 5 times in a mirror or some stupid shit like that. That was my first thought. I'm not even slightly religious, so I didn't really pay attention to the christian references. But if I'm putting that meaning on it the only real bit that I believe can reference it is the chorus~~

    I won't cry for you
I won't crucify the things you do
I won't cry for you, see,
When you're gone, I'll still be Bloody
    Mary.

She won't cry for them, because they called for her. She killed 'you', whoever 'you' is referenced to at the time, but she's going to continue killing people when they call for her, because it's what she does ;)

Was this anyone else's first thought when they first heard the song, or just the title?

General Comment:i thought it was quite a powerful, angry song - she's suggesting the beginnings of christianity lie with mary - could be mary the mother or mary magdalene, liely both.

    1. love's just a history they may prove, my religion's you - the marys, out of rage at jesus' death, and refusal to lose their beloved, tell of their love in a different light, and jesus is now their religion.
    2. we are not just art - both marys? well, the agro of furied heart, i thought this points to the rage as well, of someone losing the beloved.
    3. bloody mary - since they were the ones who took his body, bathed and shrouded him, their hands had jesus' blood on them. if i have to do that for my loved one, i would never forget it either.

General Comment:This song is much simpler than everyone thinks. Don't get me wrong, it's very creative and well written but due to this creativity and religious references, people look too far into it. Here is the lowdown:

Bloody Mary = Bloody (Very) MERRY (Happy). English people will understand the use of the word "bloody".

She is simply talking about her deep love for someone. At the same time she is saying she is going to dance and still be happy when he is gone. There are many religious references but they are not really references as much as they are METAPHORS. This is what gaga means when she said that "This song is about between reality and fantasy".

I could go into detail about each line but it's not necessary. Everything should be self explained when you understand that Bloody Mary = Very Happy.

General Comment:I think its about a lover whom she now hates and wises his death. And when he's dead she'll say she loved him. She know's you're expected to be good and forgiving and all that (like Jesus said), which she will be, but not without getting her vengeance (forgive him before he's dead). "We are not just art for Michelangelo to carve. He can't rewrite the agro of my furied heart." i.e. people are not beautiful sculptures, they're multi-dimensional, they have an ugly side, and hate is hate, it can't just be rewritten...

    General Comment:

*this part describes how Mary stayed true to Jesus after his death*
Love, is just a history that they may prove
And when you're gone I'll tell them my religion's you

*this describes how mary was prepared to continue Jesus' teachings after his death, even though she might get prosecuted for it*
When Pontius to kill the king upon his throne
    I'm ready for their stones.

*this describes the way female dancers in a kings court would dance in Jesus' time*
    I'll dance, dance, dance
    With my hands, hands, hands
    Above my head, head, head
    Like Jesus said.
    I'm gonna dance, dance, dance
    With my hands, hands, hands
    Above my head
    Dance together
    Forgive him before he's dead
    Because

*"i won't cry for you" interprets to how Mary stayed strong after Jesus' death*
    I won't cry for you

*"i won't crucify the things you do" is a comparison between Mary and GaGa, meaning that GaGa would not judge people for who they are, what they do, or who they choose to be*
I won't crucify the things you do
I won't cry for you, see,
When you're gone, I'll still be Bloody
    Mary.
*^^Mary continued on with teaching the word after Jesus was gone*

    LOVE!

*Michaelangelo is famous for sculpting and painting figures from the Biblical era*
We are not just art for Michelangelo to carve
He can't rewrite the agro of my furied heart
I wait, on mountain tops in Paris cold
Je ne veux pas mourrir toute seule
*translates to "I do not want to die alone"*

    I'll dance, dance, dance
    With my hands, hands, hands
    Above my head, head, head
    Like Jesus said
    I'm gonna dance, dance, dance
    With my hands, hands, hands
    Above my head
    Dance together
    Forgive him before he's dead
    Because

    I won't cry for you
I won't crucify the things you do
I won't cry for you, see,
When you're gone, I'll still be Bloody
    Mary.

    LOVE!

    GaGa x 8
    Dum dum da da da
Dum dum da da da d-d-da da da
    Dum dum da da da
    Dum dum da da da
Dum dum da da da d-d-da da da
    Dum dum da da da

    I won't cry for you
I won't crucify the things you do
I won't cry for you, see,
When you're gone, I'll still be Bloody
    Mary.

    Oh, Liberdade...
    Mi amor...
*Galician-translates to "Oh, freedom... My love..."*

General Comment:I love Gaga’s music. It is truly genius. However, it is quite obvious that she and the rest of you are delusional. Gaga’s secret wish is death—just like all the rest of you religious hypocrites. Yes, it’s the hypocrisy that is tearing Gaga and for that matter you apart. She cannot do what Jesus did. None of you can. Just go and sacrifice your life away for killers. That is what your barefoot bum of a leader did (Or did he? You dopes were sold Plato’s great lie by a bunch of inbred Hyksos). Go and renounce this material world and run into the valley of the shadow of death and die. That is what you wish, isn’t it? Hitler once said that all you had to do was sell the masses an ideal they couldn’t attain and you had them—that you could sink your fingers right into their skulls and did what you wanted with them. Just remember how you felt after seeing the Passion of Christ. There is no better way to disarm someone than by guilt. Ask yourself why your country is falling apart. The very same people that sold you that lie are slowly destroying your once great nation. And Gaga is playing right into their hands.
