What am I to say?
I'm all wrapped up in apathy
And I don't want to stay this way

There's nothing left to do
Now that I am onto you
All I want to know is the truth

And I don't want to go
But I feel like I should
'Cause I'm falling apart, and I might

How could you be the better part of me?
When were only half of what we used to be today
Could you see?
This isn't what we need
And I'm leaving all the pieces how they fell
So goodbye, farewell

What am I to say?
I still remember everyday
Memories don't fade away
And it all falls apart in the shadows of the past
It can seem to be so hard
But it's time the feelings past

How could you be the better part of me?
When we're only half of what we used to be today
Could you see?
This isn't what we need
And I'm leaving all the pieces how they fell
So goodbye, farewell

And pull your triggers now
What you waiting for?
I stand accused myself sometimes I'm wrong
God help me
And here beneath my life
What am I praying for?
I don't believe in help
But I just might be there tonight

How could you be the better part of me?
When we're only half of what we used to be today
Could you see?
This isn't what we need
And I'm leaving all the pieces how they fell
So goodbye, farewell

General Comment:i feel like this song should be called "With Me part 2" or maybe "Without Me." it reminds me of With Me a lot; both start out with a soft intro, have powerful choruses, and very emotional lyrics but the meanings of the songs are the exact opposite. With Me is when you fall in love, and What am I to Say is about after it doesnt work out.

General Comment:Such a beautiful song, it has the same intensity and vulnerability as With Me, I think. I agree with the other user,it's about him breaking up with his girlfriend. They love each other, and seem to be happy together once in the pst, but things are changing, maybe they argue alot or ignore each other, and he's telling her that they have to break up.

My favorite part is from the chorus when he's like "How could you be the better part of me
when we're only half of what we used to be?" Wow, that is just so deep and true to many relationships. Shit, Deryek seriously has a way with words, he makes dumping someone, seem beautiful.

Definitely my favorite song from this album.

My Interpretation:He is in a relationship that once was amazing, but no longer has the excitement and the love it once did. There are hints of infidelity or other problems within the relationship, but overall I think a situation like the one described comes from lots of little things adding up over time until finally you realize it really isn't what it once was. It's as if the couple is staying together because it's easier to avoid facing their problems. He is finally realizing that if he can feel so disappointed and ultimately, apathetic about the negative turns the relationship has taken, she can't be his soul mate even if he once thought she was the one.

This is my favorite song from their new album. Its slow pace and the sincerity of the lyrics remind me of Best of Me and With Me from Underclass Hero. All are powerful songs with emotional lyrics and beautiful music.
