When the world gets too heavy
Put it on my back, I'll be your levy
You are taking me apart
Like bad glue on a get well card

It was always you falling for me
Now there's always time calling for me
I'm the light blinking at the end of the road
Blink back to let me know

I'm a fly that's trapped in a web
But I'm thinking that my spider's dead
Lonely, lonely little life
I could kid myself thinking that I'm fine

It was always you falling for me
Now there's always time calling for me
I'm the light blinking at the end of the road
Blink back to let me know

That I'm skin and bone
Just a king and a rusty throne
Oh, the castle's under siege
But the sign outside says "leave me alone"

It was always you falling for me
Now there's always time calling for me
I'm the light blinking at the end of the road
Blink back to let me know

(It was always you)
Blink back to let me know
(It was always you)

General Comment:The person is fearful that if the person does leave they may not
find another person who will ever feel the way the partner did about
them. Thus, they feel the pain of time hanging over them. The limited
time they believe may be left for them in their life and the impact
that limit is likely to have on their ability to find someone else should
    their fears become realized.
-"I'm the light blinking at the end of the road"
    Another analogy:
A person feels they have traveled further (not farther in this sense)
than their partner and is trying to give the partner a signal in an attempt
to get the partner to return to synchronicity with the person.
-"Blink back to let me know"
A person is asking their partner to give them a sign they will recognize
to demonstrate the partner is beginning to understand where the person is
and, further, that the partner is willing to make an effort to synchronize with them.
    -"I'm a fly that's trapped in a web
But I'm thinking my spider's dead"
A person has come to rely on the ability to play the victim to achieve a desirable
reaction from their partner and is confused why the partner has stopped responding
    in the desired way.
-"Lonely, lonely little life I could kid myself thinking that I'm fine"
The person is worrying that there may be too few other persons with whom they can
effectively communicate and contemplates the option of pretending otherwise.
"That I'm skin and bone just a king and a rusty throne"
The person is worried that their mortality will prohibit them from ever again
experiencing the energy they are fearful of having lost. This worry causes
them to realize that all accomplishments are fleeting to a degree.
"Oh, the castle's under siege but the sign outside says 'leave me alone'"
The person is fearful that Carl Sandburg's prediction has just come true
    in regard to their life.
The prediction was "Sometime they'll give a war and nobody will come"

All of this can be interpreted to boil down to a person's concern over the following question:
"Name one person who wants to be with a person who does not follow through
    on the promises they make."

My Interpretation:When the world gets too heavy, put it on my back, I'll be your levy
-The person is offering to carry any weight that is greater than their partner
    can carry without breaking.
    You are taking me apart
-The person feels they are being over-analyzed by their partner which is causing
    difficulties for the couple
Like bad glue on a get well card
-This is an analogy. Many people are likely to overlook the intended sentiment
of a get well card if there is noticeably bad glue on the card.
It was always you falling for me
-The person feels that their partner is no longer responding to them in the
way the person has grown to predict
Now there's always time calling for me
-The person is fearful that if the changes in their partner signify a likelihood
the partner will leave the relationship. This fear is causing the person to

General Comment:Totally nerdy, but this song makes me think of the Harry Potter books and the Snape/Lily situation.

General Comment:I think he's battling with someone he loves, and he obivously still loves her by the line
"When the world gets too heavy
Put it on my back, I'll be your levy"

but shes starting to get over him and its tearing him apart
    "You are taking me apart
Like bad glue on a get well card"

And she was really in love with him, but he was always busy and he never made time for her and and it now killing him, so he's trying really hard to make time.
"It was always you falling for me
Now there's always time calling for me
I'm the light blinking at the end of the road
Blink back to let me know"

And she trapped him with her love and he didn't appreciated until she was gone.
    "I'm a fly that's trapped in a web
But I'm thinking that my spider's dead
    Lonely, lonely little life
I could kid myself thinking that I'm fine"

General Comment:I think out of all their songs this is the most obvious what its about. Doesn't really need the meaning interpretted when its so transparent already

General Comment:Clearly he is in love with someone and is trying to do as much for them as possible to show them this ("When the world gets too heavy put it on my back, I'll be your levy"), but that person is either disregarding his kindness or hurting him in return ("You are taking me apart like bad glue on a get well card"). The 'get well card' is a symbol of his affection and what he is doing for his love, and the 'bad glue' symbolises the hurt directed towards him from that person which is, as he says, "taking me apart".

I get the feeling that this was someone that used to like/be in love with him ("It was always you falling for me") and now he's desperately trying to get them back.

I cannot for the life of me figure out what "Now there's always time calling for me" means. Perhaps it means that he is prepared to wait forever for this person.

He's trying desperately to show this person that he loves them, and is searching desperately for a sign that they feel the same way ("I'm the light blinking at the end of the road, blink back to let me know"). The 'light' meaning that he believes he is best for this person and the 'blinking' is a metaphor for letting the person know how he feels, and his hope that they will 'blink back'.

He is trapped in his love for this person ("I'm a fly that's trapped in a web") but he believes that he may be trapped forever ("But I'm thinking that my spider's dead" - the spider being his way out; the spider is this other person admitting that they feel the same way).

He is obviously lonely, and this has made him depressed, though he puts on a mask to appear fine to those around him ("Lonely, lonely little life, I could kid myself thinking that I'm fine").

This whole situation has worn him down completely ("That I'm skin and bone" - meaning that there is nothing left of him but skin and bone; he has sacrificed a lot for this person to try to make them happy, at a great cost (emotionally and mentally) to himself).

He used to be a strong person, but cannot handle it any longer. (Just a king and a rusty throne oh, the castle's under siege - 'king' symbolising his strength, and the 'rusty throne' symbolising the deterioration of this strength. The castle could be his mind, which is under attack, which could then be a metaphor for his mental suffering.)

He wants to deal with things himself, and doesn't want help from anyone else ("But the sign outside says 'leave me alone'").

Please, let me know what you think about my interpretation - Blake.

My Interpretation:I love the line "I'm a fly that's trapped in a web, but I'm thinking that my spider's dead"

I think that he's in love with a girl that he can't get over (i.e. trapped) but she no longer pays any attention to him.

This whole song it amazing :D

General Comment:I mean this CD is full of mixed emotions. Beautiful album, nonetheless, I'm proud of the boys. They've grown.
