  My Interpretation:I love this song so much. It's been on repeat today and yesterday. I think this song is about being afraid of something new. This girl's been so sad, it's only thing she knows, and now it seems that she's going to be happy and it's surreal for her to let go of all the negativity she's always had to endure. I guess you can interpret it as being afraid of a new and loving relationship, whether it be platonic or romantic.
  
  On the other hand, however, judging solely based on the chorus, it's about being really sad all the time - which is exactly how I'm feeling right now. The latter part of my explanation resonates more for me.

    I really like your interpretation especially the first paragraph. Sadness is one of few things you can rely on in life and it's strangely comforting in a way.
    
    I also think Sadness can literally be interpreted as a blessing because most great art and music comes from sadness. Feeling down in the dumps can sometimes allow you to create things that wouldn't be possible if you weren't feeling that way.
