You'll be a bright light coming out of the dark
All the doctors blinking hard
You'll be lightning coming out of the storm
It's a message, it's a miracle
You'll do all right
You've got your mother's eyes
You've got your daddy's head
Everything you need
For this hard ride
They'll be strapping you on
All the ups and downs and you can't get off
Yes, trouble we're handing off
And you've got to do better than us
It'll be all right
You've got lots of time
Got your daddy's love
Everything you want
I can feel you and what you're gonna be
You'll be stronger, you'll be smarter than me
Oh baby, I'll say it again
You're the most incredible thing
Sorry, this is it
It's cold and hard and badly lit
And there's no backing out of it
So forget where you've been
It'll never be that good again
And we must only look ahead
Soon you're thirty three
And everything you tried to be
Is pulled apart by fear and greed
Let young hands build you up
And carve your face in honest rock
With sunlight on your noble jaw
May young hands build you up
I'm happy that you've come along
I'm happy that you've come, I'm happy that you've come
Oh baby, I'll say it again
I'll say it again, I'll say it
You're the most incredible thing
All the doctors blinking hard
You'll be lightning coming out of the storm
It's a message, it's a miracle
You'll do all right
You've got your mother's eyes
You've got your daddy's head
Everything you need
For this hard ride
They'll be strapping you on
All the ups and downs and you can't get off
Yes, trouble we're handing off
And you've got to do better than us
It'll be all right

You'll be stronger, you'll be smarter than me

So do I welcome you to it?
Sing 'let the god damn games begin!'
'Cause the god that gives deliverance
Has a thing for disappearing, kid
When they're fighting on the beaches' heads
The five am to Winnipeg
The knights that fight in poison pith
The needle edge of old regret
But the wind will only shift again
And the breath beneath your epaulettes
Strength enough to carry it

As a side note, I have no idea why I'm interpreting this song as if the subject were a girl instead of a boy, since the lyrics don't indicate gender. Maybe the band's name subconsciously influenced me into thinking "rosetta" had something to do with the subject of the song.
'let young hands build you up'
oh- and the part 'i'm so glad you've come alone' is slowed down perfectly and just sang so lovely. Great song!
Sorry, this is it (the death of Jesus)
It's cold and hard and badly lit (probably the feeling inside the people there)
And there's no backing out of it (literally he can't/doesn't want to back out)
So forget where you've been (I don't know)
It'll never be that good again (kind of contradicting me)
And we must only look ahead (to Easter)
Soon you're 33 (Jesus' age when he died)
And everything you tried to be
Is pulled apart by fear and greed (The chief preists were afraid of Him, that's why they killed him)
Waited 3 years to finally see them live.
Was so worth the wait.
ANYWAYS:
They opened with this song (Downstairs being the intro to the concert) and it was pure win.
Also: the band title that this is under, is wrong. It's "Hey Rosetta!" with an exclamation mark.
